Just look for the Aurora LN.

I'm an original backer and I got it just fine.

Go to store->RSI Aurora and it should be in the upper right.

Not true from what I'm reading.

The developers have stated before that the only ship that you can get from backing the game with out a jump drive is the p-52(the military hornet also has one but you only get that in sq42). The reason most ships on the ship comparison page don't have a jump drive listed is the devs haven't decided what model each ship will get.

The Merlin P-52 is what I meant by the snub but if they are confirming that all ships will start out with some sort of Jump drive then so much the better.

I don't know how I feel about the transport system in the game with pledge tier. Kinda makes it to safe for people in a game of risk.

I don't think this game is aiming for an EVE online killmail-whoring-griefer-paradise world, which is fantastic.

Pretty sure you can't carry cargo so it's not really much advantage. At some point you'd have to fly a real ship or you'd just be aimlessly traveling around on shuttles...

Ok, I caught the excitement bug.

Melted my Origin, got a Retaliator (while it was available), Freelancer (seems to be a good exploration ship), and a Aurora LX (for a cheap ship for learning the game, and later as an escort for my retaliator if you can hire NPC's to do so).

Thinking about getting a fighter of some sort (hornet or avenger), but I think I probably won't. Want to have some stuff to work towards in the game.

Dang, I'm really looking at getting an MISC Freelancer. I think this is the closest I'll get to being in Firefly.

I thought the same too but its smaller than I had hoped and I wasn't very enthusiastic about the layout so I melted mine. The Firefly is actually pretty large, somewhere between the Starfarer and an Idris.

How are you guys with larger ships planning to get crewmates? Planning to hire a crew/join a clan? I know there will be AI crewmates available, but I have a distinct feeling they're going to suck. Could be wrong, but that's been my experience with AI NPCs in the past.

I don't see myself going above an Avenger (unless they release a larger single-person ship) for that reason alone.

Although I suppose a bunch of us could always chip in for an Idris and form the ATOT Pirate League.

Well, my freelancer should be good solo. Just hire an NPC for the tailgunner position (least important). I also will be playing with a buddy so he can tag along.

For my retaliator, my plan with that is to basically only bring it out for major guild fights. At that point I'll just get guild buddies to assist.

Mulitple family members and close friends have pledged, we have enough to fully ceew some of the larger ships and field a few escort fighters.

If I melt my Hornet (waiting for reveal of variants tomorrow before deciding) for a Constellation I will just get guildmates to man the turrets and fighter. Supposedly according to CR a Connie can hold off 2-3 Hornets easily so it seems like a better starter ship... but who knows.
