When is this game coming out ? I couldn't see myself spending the hundreds of dollars a lot are on these ships for a game that is nowhere near release, but I guess I don't get the hype. I enjoyed the wing commander games when I was young though and hope this game does well.
Just seems crazy the level of expectations for a game that is apparently over three years? from release. It looks really ambitious as well with the ideas of the space combat/fps hybrid thing.
Pretty crazy the amount of money they've pulled in from end-users so far without an actual product.

Where and when has he been arrested and convicted of stealing? You need to watch it with those kinds of accusations, as people tend to get sued over things like that.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the couple hundred I made buying/selling packages/ships thus far. I've now got my Super Hornet and 350r which are paid for with some cash to spare. Woe is me for getting taken advantage of by this thief, Chris Roberts.
Sounds like you're scalping, putting you in the same thieving category. Birds of a feather, I suppose.
My install just keeps getting corrupted. I go to do the update, the patch doesn't apply properly and then I have to download and install the whole darn thing again. Last time I played the arena commander it was pretty bad, the control was terrible. I don't know if they fixed that because my launcher is broken and honestly I don't feel like wasting another 20+GB on downloads just to see if they fixed any of the serious issues yet.
I am waiting on news that they are releasing something worth trying.
Repair just redownloads everything. Reapplying the same patch doesn't work. I wouldn't mind too much since its in beta but that is the third time its happened, something is very broken with that launcher.

I'm buying another package just because of this endorsement, thanks! Keep thread crapping t.c., it's amusing. If you've donated ANY money to this thief, Chris Roberts, you are part of the problem in the video game industry.
This plonker ThinClient seems to have quite a vested interest in seeing this fail. For something he hates, he spends an awful lot of time thinking about it. I wonder who's paying him to troll?

Also, instances will be at 32, which coincidentally is the same as Elite Dangerous, except Star Citizen at least has demonstrated it can handle some MP (in pre alpha no less), whereas ED still has issues even with just a few ppl
Yeah, how dare I share pertinent information about how bloated this game is, having ripped it open using the SDK to find hard evidence that this game will not and cannot be as big as the author claims it to be.
How dare I look out for my fellow gamers so that they aren't taken by a snake oil salesman.
Do yourself a favor and take the time you spend throwing personal insults at someone who said something mean about a game you like and spend that time more appropriately doing your own homework. Crack this baby open with the SDK yourself and look.
Even the most basic ships have ABSURD resource requirements. I'm sure you'll appreciate that your computer is spending resources to render the toilets in each of your opponent's ships while you're in a dog fight.
Are you complaining that star citizen sucks? Or just that it is overhyped?
You've gone to plaid.
This isn't a "game I like", in fact I have no opinion on this game. I haven't paid a dime for it, and wouldn't until it's actually released as a full game.
You on the other hand are raving like a lunatic, making accusations about people being thieves and claiming you understand the entire render pipeline because you looked at the SDK.
LOL
Hey guys! I promised to keep the forums informed when we lock down plans for a concept ship sale. So, here goes: the Origin 890 Jump luxury spacecraft will be available starting on Friday. This will be a wave 3 concept sale, including the in-game items and LTI. The ship will run $600, and a limited number will be made available. The first allotment of 890 ships will go on sale during the CitizenCon livestream on Friday, followed by three additional allotments to cover backers in other time zones (specific times to be announced later in the week.) Tune in later in the week to hear more about the 890 Jump itself; we'll have stats, holoviewer, concept art and more ready for Friday... it's a big, sexy ship that would make a great organization headquarters.
890 Jump sales are limited for the same game-balancing reason as the Idris; it's a big part of our universe, but it shouldn't be everywhere at launch. As with any ship, it'll be available in-game for anyone who is interested but doesn't want to pledge for it during the sale. There will be a good deal more 890 Jumps than there are Idrii, though. Each release adds 890 to the total, for a grand total of around 3,500 ships. Any that don't sell immediately will be available for the rest of the week.
