Yes, just because they don't have stated stretch goals listed anymore doesn't mean that backers won't get more freebies.

For example, we got a Christmas wreath for the hangar by surprise in December, a snow globe in the hangar in January (again a surprise).

CIG rewards its backers.

You can go back 10-20 pages on in this very thread and see that I used to make fun of this stuff. But now that I've received a few of these perks, I can honestly say that they're nice little additions to my game/hangar/SC life. Although I still think the forthcoming space plant is kinda goofy. But what's not goofy is when they gave every backer 10,000 UEC to spend or save. And I think they'll do that again (give away some amount of UEC).

Found you. I'm Rivethead318. Holy smokes you've been a backer since 10/2012.... It took balls to throw money at this endeavor way back then.....much more risky proposition than it is today!

Hey does anyone know how to get leaderboard data by ship?

I ran a 2 minute 13 second lap at Old Vanderval last night in my Aurora LN. I'm not a good pilot, but I'd at least like to know if that's respectable or not for an Aurora.

I know you can click on the rows in the Leaderboards and see what ships the fastest times where recorded in (all M50s or 350R in case you're wondering). But I can't figure out a way to find out what the fastest Aurora time is....

You know you can be a part of multiple ones right (well the game itself allows it, just internal rules of your org might ban it).

Ok, you guys got me. Any recommendations of what might complement a Mustang Omega? I don't want to spend too much, so I'm looking at the Aurora's. Or should I just get a shirt/hoody?

If you're just looking for backer status, just spend real money on some UEC (in game credit). Then you can shop Voyager Direct and buy some stuff for your hangar (buggy, aquarium, fish, workdesk, posters) or ship (guns, guns, guns, and missiles).

I bought an aquarium. I'm a sucker. Honestly though....I have over 20 hours+ in the modules so far....I consider my Origin 315p money well-spent. I have more money and fewer hours in a lot of fully finished games that I haven't had as much fun with. Can't wait for the FPS module.

I've got a similar story. I didn't touch SC for months at a time. Now, I'm loading it up pretty much every night. I'm trying to improve my flight skills by racing on the tracks and killing vanduul in the vanduul swarm map.

I'm not super interested in the FPS module, but am very interested in the Social/Economy module.

And hey....that aquarium looks cool!

Yea but the risk of conflict between the 2 or more would put me in a difficult position that I don't feel like being in anymore. I would rather join just one and enjoy the camaraderie that comes from it.

ps: After selling some ships and gifting a few others all I have left in my "fleet" is a 315p, 325a & a Retaliator. I am hoping they unveil any Tali variants soon so I can see how I can best utilise that ship.

Some think it's a "warning" that griefers will be dealt with harshly.

Regardless, it's a funny read.

Heh, that was a pretty good read. During one of townhalls CR mentioned that if the systems starts to consider you a griefer (repeatedly pulling a gun in safe zones, sneaking weapons in once you've lost your carry privilege) that the match making system would begin to instance you with other's of your ilk.

New AC patch released yesterday. Mostly bug fixes but they gave my Aurora LN two new weapons on the wings. Holy smokes what a difference that makes. I don't quite understand the differences between weapons, but the Bulldog repeaters up front and the M3A guns on the wings absolutely shred Vanduul shields when fired at the same time.

Also noted they're adding stronger shields to the Voyager Direct store.....bout time......it's good news for people like me who plan to haul ass out of a fight instead of duke it out.

Of course, the notion of an Aurora hauling ass out of anything is comical....it's so darn slow.

Anyways, lots of other little improvements. Have a go at AC if you haven't recently. This is one thing I really like about CIG....they seem to release patches regularly with just enough changes/improvements to make it interesting. At least recently.

Kelvrick: What I did was bought a stand alone Mustang Alpha (fairly cheap, has 2 small nose guns) and put the lasers from the Omega on the Alpha wings (its an arcane process using the "holo-table" in your hanger- there are some hints in various posts, basically drag and drop).

The Alpha is slower, tops at 200 m/s, and handles worse, but with a little persistence you can get all 4 guns firing and it does seem to help in Vanduul. However, since that new patch, both of my Mustangs are now as sturdy as wet tissue paper.

The nose turret from the Alpha will mount on the Omega (I've read) but the guns wont charge, so no point. Its a bug. That's too bad.

There has been some talk of "AC credits" in upcoming version 1.10 that would allow you to buy stuff (like guns) temporarily for use in AC, if I understand correctly. I've found nothing official on that however.

Anyway, good luck with your decision on this.

I don't think there has been any press releases on the AC Credits thing, but it's been mentioned live both by CR and the AtV team so I would definitely count on some sort of mechanism to try different kits and/or ships some time in the future.

My guess would be that they would simply make all modules free so everyone can test out all kinds of combinations of weapons/modules for a little balancing and bug testing of strange interactions that might occur (and then just reset everyone back to previous values).
