had my first chance to get into the PTU yesterday after I got my invite about a week ago.

Flew around in my super hornet for a bit, doing acrobatics around port olisar & getting used to the flight model changes. Took a while to remember all the keybindings.

Went to one of the comm stations, jumped right into the middle of a fight between a couple players & some pirates. Helped kill one of them.

Tried to EVA down to the station to repair the panel but I mis-judged the distance & parked my ship too far away. So I turned around to head back, only to see it get blown up by a 300i. Waited around for a while until someone in an avenger rescued me & took me back to port olisar.

Awesome.

Heard K dropped today and it's the most stable yet. Lots of guys playing extended sessions without crashes. Any experiences yet?

I tried K. First load had a Login Faliure message on the main menu and dropped to the desktop. Second try I was able to get in the server and walk out of the room before I crashed to the desktop. I'll try some more tomorrow but at least I could get in a ship before crashing in the previous patches.

After most recent patches I can actually get in after a few tries however it still crashes after 2 minutes or so. Always a vague windows error...checking for solution....crash to desktop. Any suggestions?

Also we need a 25th Baller someone please apply

Wait. After reading the CIG forums, it sounds like people either see massive improvement with patch K, or they see massive deterioration in performance (vs previous patches). Doesn't seem to be a middle ground.

CIG know they are releasing patches with crashes in the code......sounds like one of those Donald Rumsfeld "there are known knowns and known unknowns" type of deals.

I hope to give K a shot tonight myself (but it'll probably be this weekend).

I love how they're iterating and fixing stuff so quickly, I just hope Comcast doesn't decide to enforce a cap in my area anytime soon because I'm definitely downloading a lot more this month than usual. Haven't downloaded L yet but K was an improvement by a good bit for me. Got some really long play sessions of an hour or more before the game would crash.

K was very stable for me, but fps was very low, i only managed about 25 and the gpu was not being utilized fully. won't be able to try L until Sunday by which time there will probably be M or N

Not yet, but if they're talking about that + some Nyx stuff, I'll definitely be tuning in.

It's worth it. They have a two part interview with Tony Z. Part 1 was last week. Part 2 yesterday. They also have a behind the scenes interview with Rob on the design of Nyx. They do it all in Visio, which I found interesting (I would have guessed some type of CAD software instead of Visio).

Regardless, definitely worth the time. Lots of tidbits.

As long as your area has competition (FIOS, Google Fibre, etc), Comcast won't enforce the cap.

That's probably a good thing. I expect frustrations to be massively high with this live release initially....as everyone tries to fit through the entry door at that same time.

I just had my first session and it was an amazing experience. I played two hours with no disconnects or crashes. Sure, there were some bugs but it was an awesomely fun time. Made friends, shot pirates, EVA'd, etc.

Good times. 100% would 2.0 again.
