I really hope my Ryzen + Vega will be able to play this at a decent quality level. It's going to be 3-4 years before I upgrade again.

I'm averaging 30-40 with random drops down to 10-15ish

In Port Olisar? That's awesome. I get pretty smooth rates if I'm in AC. But anything else (especially Star Marine.....forget it. It's pretty much unplayable).

Weird. Star Marine plays pretty damn well for me, especially considering all the new netcode coming down the pipeline. Even with the hacked cryengine netcode it's still playable for me at least.

Here's how a typical match usually goes for me. I'm 'sentrybot619' (bonus cat included)

Right after a new patch was released, for a short time I saw 60 fps in Universe/Crusader/Port Olisar (until more people got in the same server). It takes me about 10 minutes to download a new patch, so if I am online when it is released, I am quickly in.

Now, with more people, in Crusader it stays mostly in 25-30 fps area.

Performances issues is what has kept me from even checking it out. I will wait until it releases before I bother trying to play. The few times I did get in to try (spaced far apart mind you) it was a stutter fest. I have not tried it with my latest PC but meh...I can wait.

It's still a stutter fest for me. But YMMV...others have seen improvement. I used to have really good luck with the old patches if I woke up at 7am (Central) on Sunday and logged in then.

Erin crashed BNB's twitch stream and dropped a couple of fun items. (https://www.twitch.tv/videos/133666256?t=01h48m11s)

1.) He's in LA now finalizing the 3.0 schedule to be released Soon™
2.) Full orbital mechanics are in (planets rotate around the sun, bodies around planets)
2a) Tech supports non-circle orbits
2b) When you achieve orbit and set velocity at 0, you will be able to watch the planet rotate (natural day/night cycles, and in addition suggests players' velocities are relative to stellar bodies. This makes sense considering the object container system)
3.) Atmospheric damage is in (if your shields are down/weak, you can burn up in atmos)

I suspect either a neutered 3.0 coming sooner than later, or a 2.7, and it's going to be not much more than a few new missions, and the current Crusader moons are landable.

Then a 3.0.1 or w/e will come after.

An unexpected 2.6.3 bug-fixing patch went to PTU a few hours ago. This one is open to all backers.

I checked, the Cutlass Black is still the same old one (there were some rumours started by that 4.6.17 date from the teaser at the end of the last ATV).

My bet is a neutered 3.0....although besides Crusader moons landable, I think they'll include ArcCorp as landable (although maybe not fully explorable/completed).

I don't think that the incomplete 3D assets (planets and moons) are the ones that are holding planet landings back.

I am content to wait.. I can't stress that enough. I've seen so many games rushed out and they never recover from that initial backlash from internet trolls.. They do more harm than good to be honest..
I would suggest that anyone interested in this game, expects to wait 2-3 years, easily for a finished product..
Or wait and don't get involved if you can't deal with real alpha and beta issues in a ground breaking game, that is going to have to deal with tons of blockers, no other game has handled in one package..
I'm content to wait.. No polished turds please.. Seen plenty of them and they all fail..

"Old" CIG forums being archived this Friday. Eveyone is being "forced" to use Spectrum. Lots of angst over this, but honestly I'm not bothered. Spectrum certainly isn't perfect but it IS CIG's desired gateway into their products.

Personally, I'm excited about this. The 'delta patcher' is integrated within Spectrum. They've been testing it internally with success for awhile now and the Turbulent guys stated on the last AtV we could see it rolled out in the next couple of the months. That's a huge deal.....no more downloading 30gb just for several line so code changed.

Once they polish and iterate upon Spectrum, I think it'll be just fine.

  • LTI Cutlass Black (upgraded from an LTI Argo Cargo). Melt value $80. Ship value $100.
  • LTI Buccaneer (upgraded from an LTI Dragonfly). Melt value $105. Ship value $110.
And $15 left in Store Credits.

I had the Cutlass Black for a while now. The Buccaneer (upgraded from a Hull A) is the newest addition to my fleet.

Right now, even the old Cutlass Black (the current one) is not that bad. But the new one should be better. It should be included in the next patch.
