They do less and less at E3 each year, and yet the Wii U is the only system with games coming out this year that I want. Took awhile for them to get to that point though, but the other 2 systems, well 99% of what I want I can get on PC...so no point.

They need to die. It's gone from a duolpoly (Xbox and Playstation) for teenagers and a monopoly (Wii) for those under 13.

They screwed the pooch. It's now just a duoloply. They make great games. They need to move to PS4 and XBone.

It looks like shit. Wii U games can look much better than that.

They sucked ass this E3.

No Zelda. No new Mario Galaxy (the strongest in the entire Mario series). No Metroid (the DS multiplayer crap does not count).

Yeah, I think they dropped the ball on so much stuff this year, it was brutal. They announced games for big IPs, like Zelda, Metroid, and Animal Crossing, but what the actual games were, didn't match up to what fans of those IPs wanted, at all. Most of the actual big titles seem to have been delayed out to 2016 and beyond...

High point for me was the Xenoblade release date actually falling in 2015. Yet, way back in December. 7 month delay to localize something to the western market in 2015? GTFO Nintendo, seriously, you need to fire some people.

I never played Star Fox as a kid. I'm just going to pretend this is a general Nintendo E3 thread and rail on Nintendo for a second.

Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival is the funniest thing I've ever seen. I mean, do they realize that they JUST released that piss-poo Mario Party 10? Oh, and this requires amiibo to play? Honestly, it feels like it's an admittance that they half-assed amiibo Party into MP10, then made this to make up for it, but by releasing something stupid. This is like the demo of what MP10's amiibo Party should have been, rather than stoic chunks of plastic moving on a tiny board. In fact, that's what the PRIMARY MP10 mode should have been--old-style MP (not that team-car garbage without mini-games) with amiibo support in the mode, like with Smash.

At least Mario Tennis is coming back. I don't get why they don't just make multi-sport releases the norm. I'd like Mario Golf more than this, though I like this just fine. I'd like them to just release a single-disc Mario Tennis + Golf or something. It's something to play, at least.

Mario Maker looks cool. They kept calling it Super Mario Maker, wonder if that's just the name in Japan, or if it'll get rebranded as that later. Yoshi's Woolly World still looks awesome, ready for it. There was also a crapload of I-don't-care stuff for 3DS (no new 3DS-only stuff), and we're going to be waiting for Fire Emblem: Fates and STxFE, as both are for next year (wonder if the latter will just get delayed into become a 2017 NX release).

So a few games, nothing AMAZING, and no Pokémon game? That was a surprise.

It is now Super Mario Maker and yes, I think it looks awesome. If you watch the Nintendo world champion finals you can see what it can do. Even my wife liked it. I also am anxious for Xenoblade (I really liked the other one). Other than that not much else until Zelda. I'm not much of a Starfox fan.

I'm with you. My friend was choosing between WiiU and PS4 for his son since he got Straight A's all year and he wanted a new game system. I'm glad I persuaded him to go PS4.

It really is a crap shoot. I don't want to buy a Wii U honestly and still may not, but really the PS4/Xbox just don't do it for me either. Not that it should be a loss, I've such a fricking backlog on PC (and past consoles) to catch up on. I will say though, last year/this year have netted the largest "want" catalog for me in a long time. Just most of it is multiplatform. There haven't been many exclusives I care about.

Well, I mean from my point of view Playstation offers a larger variety of games. That's basically what I told him. I mean you'll never be able to play Batman Arkham Knight, Witcher 3, Grand Theft Auto 5 etc on a WiiU and those are games my friend might want to try out himself. You'll still get games that are ok for kids too. His son is 10, so not exactly a little guy. Just felt it was a better investment to go with Xbox One or PS4 and they went PS4 since a couple of his friends from school had PS4.

Funny, I thought Nintendo's presentation was fine. Though I watched about 75% of the Nintendo presentation and haven't seen much of anyone else's, other than the individual trailers for games I was interested. I will say that, so far, the Uncharted 4 presentation wins the award for getting me excited about a franchise I've had no prior experience in.

I'm looking forward to Yoshi, Mario Tennis, Star Fox, and Fire Emblem. Triforce Heroes and Metroid Prime Federation looked fun, though I don't think I know anyone else who'd co-op with me on 3DS. Xenoblade Chronicles looks like it could be a good game. Haven't played any of the prior games (unless Xenogears counts), so I'll probably wait for the reviews.

Agreed. I still believe that the Wii U is the #3 option for a primary console, but it's #1 for being a secondary console. There are nice experiences on Wii U PS4 and XBO can't match (MK8, SSB, and SMM are good examples), but the lack of overall gaming options and networked gaming puts Wii U behind the competition for a first choice.

It depends on what you like traditionally. Me, I never cared about Star Fox or Metroid, or even Zelda (plus, that Tri-Force Heroes looks lame). Mario Tennis is sweet, but I'd prefer golf myself. Yoshi's Woolly World looks fantastic, but there's also a limit to how long you can just shove a million platformers out there. YWW, NSMBU, SLU, SM3DW, DKCTF, etc. It's too much, given the dearth of variety on the platform now. Fire Emblem would get me excited if they'd put it out on Wii U (have a 3DS, but never once played it, not sure if I ever will, or if I'll just sell it).

Like you said, you didn't watch the competition. I can look forward to Super Mario Maker, Woolly World, and Mario Tennis this year, for my Wii U. On my Xbox One, I can choose between Halo 5, Rare Replay (and its 30-game package), Forza Motorsport 6, Fallout 4, the standard stable of EA/2K sports games, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Fable: Legends, some stuff I have already forgotten, and backwards compatibility. I'll realistically pick up 3-4 Wii U games this year, but I could end up playing twice as many Xbox One titles, ignoring the 30 in Rare Replay. There's just so much more variety and quantity (and before you say, "quality > quantity," it's not like the Xbox/PlayStation titles are bad games).

Meh, maybe it's just that what little I saw from the competition was awful compared to Nintendo's presentation, which wasn't great but good enough for me:

Gears of War 4: I love the franchise, but dear lord was the gameplay presentation boring. Around the part where the two characters had the lame banter about whether the water in the fountain was drinkable, it was ALT-F4 time for me. SERIOUSLY? THAT'S part of the short preview clip you're showing off to the public?

The Last Guardian: Another game I was interested in with another boring-ass gameplay trailer.

Halo 5: Another franchise that's nearly on auto-buy status, but the E3 presentation did nothing to help it's cause. Warzone nearly piqued my interest because I thought it was maybe a MOBA/FPS hybrid, but apparently not.

Square: Decent presentation, but for me Square Enix games are all flash and no substance. Games that look pretty but have sub-par gameplay. So I viewed their presentation with a skeptical eye.

Uncharted 4 and Fallout 4 had great presentations, IMO. Other than the Nintendo games, those two were the only presentations that actually upped my interest in the game.

Assuming this game ever actually comes out, given the past games, and that trailer, that is going to be one fricking sad tearing up game. Spoiler Alert: that birddog dies at the end.

Yeah the game is about a deep friendship between the birddog thing and the boy. It's not an action game. Something of a puzzle platformer more like. It's no wonder people found it boring, they didn't get to shoot anyone or have the birddog eat someone.

Yup, good suggestion. The kid will be able to grow into the system as well as he enters the teenage years.

Star Fox looked bad. Looked like a gamecube game and didn't show any kind of advancement in terms of gameplay. The controller for the cockpit view didn't make any sense. Looking back and forth between avoiding stuff on the TV and aiming on the game pad doesn't look like much fun. The graphics were really bad too.

You mean the folks demoing the game and saying how awesome the GamePad view was every 30 seconds were lying?!?!?!

The wii u is a great first console for someone with a gaming pc...

Except I have a PC and still don't want one. What does that say? There are lots of games on ps4 and xb1 that I can't get on PC or *gasp* are better on console because there are more players or I actually know some of the people playing.
