I tried watching Enterprise again for like the 50th time and I couldn?t enjoy it, It didn?t have TNG's family feel between the crew, the bold captain that was Siko (spelling) in DS9 or the tech aspect of VOY. I also hear the next movie wont be for some time or might not happen since the TNG last movie was Nemesis and it failed at the box office.

Tell me theres a new movie and theres going to be a better series then enetrprise. Please.

TNG and DS9 are Trek the way it was meant to be. VOY was a departure from that, and was decent, if poorly written and technically impossible, even within the expanded world of Trek physics.

ENT is just... Crap. It's not even Star Trek. It's some random show with the same species. The only way they can save the brand from irreperable damage is if the time ship Relativity makes a cameo appearance and uncreates the entire damn show.

TNG is the best. I never really got into DS9 or Voyager. I don't think it will ever be the same without Gene as a previous poster said.

Well the screwed Enterprise up by making it's very premis based on time travel. I mean come on a "temporal cold war" How f'ing lame. If it didn't have that aspect to it i might actually watch it on a regular basis.(i do have all the episodes, just haven't watched them all yet)

well looks like the temporal cold war crap is over according to the last episode. I'm just hopping for a nice 2-3 year war with the romulens now thats what everyone wanted to see when this show was first anounced.

Even if Enterprise survives this season, they will not bring another series for a while. Also there is another movie in the works, read below for info.

Berman explains, "The movie that we're having very early discussions about would have nothing to do with any of the characters that have ever existed on any of the Star Trek series. It would be an entirely new setting and an entirely new set of characters, and it would take place prior to any of the series, including Enterprise."

forget the first 3 episodes of this season as they are carry overs from the horrific plot from last season

Give it a try starting next week (tho it's gonna be a poor episode then but should get much better through the rest of this season)

I really like Enterprise. Last year was great.

Everyone likes DS9 because it had a few seasons of war. Sorry guys but special effects alone are not good tv. DS9 has a large fanbase because it provided technical wanking material for all of the nerds out there. OMG did you see how the defiant did that spin and fired both phasers AND quantum torpedoes at once??? That was sooo 1337!!! Big deal. The first few seasons of DS9 were pure crap. Bajorans whining about this, Cardassians talking about that, Bajoran religion this... The show got entertaining when the war started not because of the cool special effects, but because stories arced over a few seasons. That was good. That is what has made Enterprise good, especially last year. There were some damn good episodes last season, with my favourite being where they captured Degra and made him think he was in a prison with Archer. Every episode had a sense of desperation to it.

TNG had very little of the long story arc type thing going on, but instead each episode had a specific issue it dealt with. There were a lot of philosophical and/or political themes in the episodes. Risk killing everone on a planet doing something, or do nothing and watch thousands die? What do you do? Stuff like that made TNG good.

Voyager had its moments. The entire series was one large story, but they tried to mix some of the social issues and ethical dilemmae in as well. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. Overall, kinda meh.

I like the temporal cold war deal too. Could be really interesting to see how everything works out and how they develop it.

Oh, and the ratings are probably pretty bad because of the tens of thousands of people who download the show via BT.

From your comments above, we come from 2 different camps of ST fans. I really liked DS9, not for the tech of it, but from the political wrangling of the plot lines and the really well developed characters. I think that show really had some of the best ST episodes ever. Sure, every series has some stinkers

I actually didn't care for last season much. Overall, the arc was ok, but the performance on the individual episodes left much to be desired. The writing and B&B really just totally fugged up the series with the alien nazis. They admitted to just throwing that in there at the end and left the new guy (Coto) to figure out what to do with it at the start of this season. Hopefully this season, we can hear Mayweather say something besides "Aye"; Tpol stop being written as a "crackwhore". They could have had some interesting thing goin on with the Maco's, but they just dropped that whole line. The holes in plots and characters last season were just disappointing. Plus, I hate time travel/holodeck episodes so I find the temporal war just a cheap trick and copout for the writers. They seemed to finally put that to rest for the upcoming season from Storm Front 2 when Daniels is basically told to never come back.

I think Ent has been a let down for many ST viewers b/c it was a real chance to delve into the Romulan Civil War, founding of the Federation and Starfleet, Eugenic wars.... but none of this was ever talked about. Instead they got 2 seasons of flying around which has been all done better by every other series. The one thing this series had going for it was History, and instead, went and invented a made up thing about the Xindi which had never been in Trek history. Granted, I am not a canon freak, but I don't think it was good enough to carry for the entire season like it was planned.

I agree about Voy as meh. Everything on that was techno babble solutions. However, the doctor was probably the best character in that show as he had some freedom in his development and 7o9 was a lil too stoic for me to enjoy.

RIP Gene

Even though it has his name in the credits, Gene Roddenberry died during the 1st or second season of DS9, which was before Voyager even started. AFAIK Majel Rodenberry had more to do with those.

Also, later series, like Andromeda, even though they call it "Gene Roddenberry's", the series didn't even start until after he died.
