StormRider I basically agree with you, but someone has to play devil's advocate right?
> 1) Their characterization of Vulcans is totally wrong. According to Enterprise, Vulcans are not curious which is totally against their portrayal in other series.
As you know, this storyline predates the other series. Perhaps they curiosity you mention was due to their long term interactions with humans.
> 2) They make a big deal that the Enterprise was the first starship using warp technology to explore other worlds and that the Vulcans held us back but later shows revealed that we've had colonies on other planets and space transports using warp technology for at least 1 generation. If true, then what is the big deal about the Enterprise?
The difference was the time. According to the series, their where long haul freight lines which could take 2 years to travel between ports. At warp 5 they could do it in a few days (few weeks?). Think about the early European settlements in the Americas, it could take months to travel back and forth. Now image someone invented the jet airplane around the late 1600's and dropped that travel time to hours. I think that is the point of the warp1 vs warp5 engine stuff, tho the writing doesn't make it very clear (shoot, bad devils advocate, I'm agreeing with you )
> 3) The "soft pr0n" aspect is too transparent and ridiculous. Now, don't get me wrong -- I like seeing T'pol shapely butt being shown off but stop making up ridiculously stupid
Much prefer T'pol in Maxim magazine than on the show
