If Star Wars is fantasy the real question is:

Star Wars vs Lord of the Rings

See, here's the thing. In Star Wars... things happen. In Lord of the Rings, people stand around and talk, some of them walk really far, and some of them fight orcs. LOTR is hella boring and nothing interesting ever happens.

I saw something somewhere that used the "official" power and strength ratings of the weapons and shields/armor and a a ST photon torpedo wouldn't even dent the armor of a TIE Fighter

Congrats.
You are now a bigger nerd than me.

Obviously a med yield nuke has more punch than any laser or PT.

Yeah, because writers have no sense of scale. Going by their numbers, Endor would have turned into a tiny sun the second that they switched on the shield transmitter and pumped a schwillion jiggawatts through the atmosphere.

A tie fighter (And everything else in Star Wars) is piloted by a guy looking out a window. Trek you could casually tell the computer to go to impluse and maneuver (At fractional lightspeed) and go have some tea from the replicator while everyone in star wars was trying to figure out where you went let alone point a weapon at you...

Star Trek.

I like the vision for the future, technology and space travel. Yes, I know Star Wars is set in the past but considering our past we have more in common with monkeys than the Star Wars universe.

I saw Star Trek Beyond couple nights ago. Was not impressed at all. Nor was I with the last main Star Wars movie.

Of course the original Star Wars movies were amazing as a kid. Some of the earlier Star Trek movies were really good - and one or two of the newer ones.

This poll needs a 'meh' selection

It is a mix actually depending on what part of the Trek or Wars universe you are talking about:

TOS Movies > TNG > TOS Show > Empire Strikes Back > Deep Space Nine > New Hope > Genndy Tartakovsky's Clone Wars > New Star Trek Trilogy> Return of Jedi > First Contact Movie (TNG) > New Star Wars Movie > Hemorrhoids > All other TNG movies > Star Wars Prequels > Star Trek Enterprise > a pencil shoved in my dick > Star Trek Voyager

So you could say I hate and love Trek the most.

The odd part is, is that the guy sitting behind the window can enter hyperspace and get across the galaxy in a matter of hours. Try that in anything Enterprise related.

Are you fucking kidding me Poofy?? I remember watching Motion Picture a couple years ago. They shaved a woman's head and called her an alien. I'm ok with everyone's peckers sticking out of their uniforms, that's kind of funny. But by the time they're stretching every syllable in slow motion saying PHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTOOOOOOOOON TORPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS there came a point I personally felt embarrassed for watching that crap. There is no fucking way that shit is better than Empire Strikes Back.

I'd take any of the Star Trek content over any of the Star Wars content excluding the new Star Trek movies. Those are so very bad.

Thankfully taste is subjective. Ha! I would move Enterprise much higher in that list along with the new Star Wars movie.

I liked them. But then, I wasn't expecting traditional Star Trek. I knew what to expect the minute I knew who was making them. I thought, given what they were, they were quite entertaining.

they used nukes in Babylon 5.

One took out the Minbari flagship the Black Star and 2 others took out the largest city on the planet Z'ha'dum.

"A fusion bomb doesn't have to lock on to anything if it's close enough.
It took out the "Black Star" and three heavy cruisers before they could escape."

Thanks to a mental block the TOS movies start with Khan in my head.

Star Trek. It was etched onto my brain a decade before Star Wars came out. Star Wars is still great in its own way but doesn't compare.

According to my simulations (in my mind), this is what the fight would look like:
