The Orville: New Horizons starts June 2 on Hulu. I'm in, or will be after I subscribe to Hulu.
Same, just got through rewatching the first two seasons again, just as good the first time around. The Orville: New Horizons starts June 2 on Hulu. I'm in, or will be after I subscribe to Hulu.

I would have done the same with season two, if I knew this was coming.Same, just got through rewatching the first two seasons again, just as good the first time around.
Yeah, it turned all serious with genecide and war in season 2.Kind of funny it started as a spoof and now has just replaced Star Trek for me.
Interesting theory that they knew It would be their last 1/2 way through the season, thus the more serious genocide arc.I would have done the same with season two, if I knew this was coming.
I never really saw it as a spoof, just a modern sci fi/comedy with strong homage to star trek. Kinda like lower decks if it wasn't actually star trek related. No reason there can't be serious episodes too. Hell the whole Moklin baby thing from S1 was pretty serious.Interesting theory that they knew It would be their last 1/2 way through the season, thus the more serious genocide arc.
If so, I would have thought Seth would go even more wacky comical since this was supposed to be a Star trek spoof
Cuz there's great stories out there if you know where to find them? Why do people watch so much TeeVee?
Turn it off.
Turn it ALL off.

Who else saw the first new show on Hulu?!? I just did, but am I the only one?
going to wait till the end of season and binge watch, unless reviews are really goodWho else saw the first new show on Hulu?!? I just did, but am I the only one?
Was it as horrible for you as it was for me?
Why did it turn into a high school drama?
Could you imagine anybody in the federation acting like that?
Do you guys remember hugh or seven of nine? The borg where destroying federation ships left and right but starfleet would still treat them with respect.
Do you remember how Q lost his powers and start trek was the only one that would protect him from every other race that was out for revenge?
That's the thing, star trek wouldn't do that because it was a science fiction show and not a drama.I think the issue was they saw him as a crewmate and he just betrayed them. I think there would have been a similar reaction in Next Generation if a fight broke out with the Klingons and Worf turned on the Federation and killed a bunch of them. Would the crew welcome him back? There's a difference between an enemy and a traitor.
Also ST Federation was an idealization of liberality, basically a fantasy of perfect beings. It was pointed out every so often by people outside the Federation, sometimes subtlety, sometimes not. Gets a little play in Lower Decks too, though that show in general is a bit more on-the-nose with its information delivery. That's the thing, star trek wouldn't do that because it was a science fiction show and not a drama.
Also everybody in ST was educated enough to realize if somebody was programmed/brainwashed and wasn't blaming them for being a victim.
So right after the episode where ensign resting-bitch-face made such a drama out of iZac killing crew members the whole crew gets murderized by the main core crew....
Also the episode was written by someone who had a friend years ago that had seen one horror movie once years ago and told him about some scenes that where in it.
Nothing makes any sense, this is a typical sit-com halloween episode but it's summer now.
Yes I agree with some people here. This season has taken a sharp downturn in writing quality and I dont know why. Maybe they got a bunch of new writers. Maybe the showrunner changed his philosophy. But its different, and not in a good way.
Yeah that is bad but the fact that distance doesn't mean anything in this world is even worse, like they have a conflict on an alien world and the next moment they are back on Earth with no sense of any time having passed.Looks like the whole budget is spent on overly long battle scenes and special efffects. Not much left over for writers. Ill still take it over Discovery.
Alos, I find the sheer number of ships on both sides distracting and implausible. Guess doing away with money in the future (as Picard said) works pretty well for them.
I was watching this episode, and my wife came in. She watched a few minutes, and then freaked out over this. She left the room mad, because I wanted to finish watching the episode. Damn you sci fi writers!!Yeah that is bad but the fact that distance doesn't mean anything in this world is even worse, like they have a conflict on an alien world and the next moment they are back on Earth with no sense of any time having passed.
Also everybody suddenly is on vacation...
They send for help and the whole fleet is there all at once like instantly...
Discovery started this crap but here it's even worse.
