Here are the specs for season one which will be released on March 26:

Disc 1: Encounter at Farpoint Parts 1 & 2 (episodes 101, 102), The Naked Now (103), Code of Honor (104)

Disc 2: The Last Outpost (107), Where No One Has Gone Before (106), Lonely Among Us (108), Justice (109)

Disc 3: The Battle (110), Hide and Q (111), Haven (105), The Big Goodbye (113)

Disc 4: DataLore (114), Angel One (115), 11001001 (116), Too Short a Season (112)

Disc 5: When the Bough Breaks (118), Home Soil (117), Coming of Age (119), Heart of Glory (120)

Disc 6: The Arsenal of Freedom (121), Symbiosis (123), Skin of Evil (122), We'll Always Have Paris (124)

Disc 7: Conspiracy (125), The Neutral Zone (126), Special Features

The DVD of Star Trek: The Next Generation ? Season One is presented in a full-frame version, and the audio is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo. The DVDs are subtitled in English and closed-captioned for the hearing-impaired.

The series will be released at the rate of one season every other month.

The release date for season two is May 7



Both sets appear to be around $90 most places.

All the above info is for Region 1.

In Region 2 the content will be pretty much the same, but the packaging is different. Click here to see the R2 packaging.

According to amazon.co.uk they are £71.99 per season which work out to around $105 for the season.

I'm sure they would be cheaper than that in the US though as Britain always seems to have higher prices than everywhere else.

There is supposed to be an official announcement with all the details on Startrek.com tomorrow, 1//11/02.
Hopefully they'll have the MSRP.

On a related question - I've been trying to find someplace to rent the 2 hr series finale episode: is it not available? I thought it had been released in this manner, but I've had no success finding it.

From the packageing it looks like all 7 are going to be released, I would bet not at the same time though.

They aren't all coming out at once.
Season 1 is supposed to be out in March, Season 2 by May and couple more later in the year.
All 7 seasons should be out by the middle or end of 2003.

Cool, yet another series to add to my "would like to have" list. Thoses boxes would be the coolest dvd-cases I've seen yet even surpassing the Special Limited Edition version of Akira (which I have )
If it was all Babylon 5 being released this way then I would be very, very happy... no, not that kind of happy

I own it on video, so I know it was available at one point. The title of the episode is "All Good Things" so try looking for that.
