When Star Trek DVDs start selling at a reasonable price, Ill buy......but they are outrageous on the price considering any other series seasons cost like $35. Where, Star Trek cost $100+

Yeouch!!! Perhaps for the rabid Star Trek zealot, er, fan, it wouldn't be a bad deal, but many of them already have at least parts of these series sets (or the entire set of a series), so I really wonder who would actually buy this?

I know one thing, if I was married and ordered this, she would be going, "You're dead Jim!" :laugh:

Man they want to milk this franchise for all it's worth. I love how Paramount's MSRP is 3909.99. If the movies are 20.00 each (their price) then they still want 140.00 per box set when some of them have been out for years. And i thought X-Files sets were bad...

Our household purchased ST:TNG, DS9, and Voyager, as they came out, because we each liked those series' in particular. So we spent $2100 just for those three season sets. I knew the price would drop, but not by this much. Even Costco was selling all of the 7 seasons of TNG for $400. I agree Paramount tore a hole in our wallets for this stuff, but we wanted it, and we wanted it now, so if you waited, this is a great deal to get it all.

Oh, you Firefly fanboys... The show's not even really that great.

The movie was probably the best movie I've seen in the last year though.

The show WAS really good, and it was GOING to be great. It had that air around it. Which is why the DVD series set was a top-seller at Amazon for months.

The movie was good in terms of the show, but it wasn't great. I've seen better movies this year, such as A History of Violence. What a great film.

Also you can slice off around 25% (more or less) buy buying used.
And this doesn't include Trekkies I or II or the animated series so you'll have to pick some stuff up seperately anyway.

Most shows (aside from F/X or HBO series that usually run around 13 episodes) run around a standard 22 episodes, the same as Trek. Heck, a complete 40-disk set of Buffy episodes is going to be released next week for $170-$200 depending on where you buy it, which is way cheaper than getting a complete series of DS9, TNG or Voyager. (TOS and ENT ran less than half the seasons as Buffy).
