Ok when there's like 3000 responses to "WHo's greater, Palpatine or Mace Windu" that's pretty geeky there.... Seriously, there are debates about that, and I can list like half their points too. IT's insane.

Trek is pure geek, even in the films, War and Rings have things the common (non-geeky) people can relate to/cope with, hence they are not as geeky.
