Star Trek w/POLL

I have to admit, I never seen a single episode. I just started watching firefly and I like it alot. So I can't help but think I would like star trek and would be missing out by not watching it. So which one should I watch?

While all of the series had their good moments, you just can't be the awesomeness of TNG

for anyone thinking of watching DS9, the real deal was called Babylon 5. not only was it original, it had a plot and acting and stuff, not just a setting.

They're all good. Start with Original and work your way through as they were made. Original is a little different though, much different style. Sorta more Artistic rather than the more Realistic style in the newer versions. Give it a try and if you don't like it skip over to TNG.

I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am.

Early season TNG was too much like TOS. Late season TNG - better. DS9 - good. Voyager - ok, some weird. Enterprise - they tried too hard for ratings. At least we got to see a really nice computer model of the Enterprise-D in the last episode of Enterprise.

If you're gonna watch DS9, skip the first 2 seasons.

you need to watch everything in chronological order.... from TOS to all the star trek movies (Kirk), and then the TNG and its movies.

Maybe that explains it, all I've ever watched were shows from the first two seasons.

The first two seasons were downright horrible. It kind of tried to be TNG-ish in that they wanted to explore the Bajoran culture and religion after the Cardassian occupation, but it wasn't like TNG because it was always the same culture. That, and the Bajorans just came off as whiny bitches.

I wasn't a fan of having a war to boost ratings, but there were a lot of great additions in the last few seasons that made it worth it. And the war was just cool too.

I didn't like much of the first two seasons of Enterprise, but I did like season 3 even though it didn't follow what the series was supposed to be about. Season 4 was fantastic though, and it's a shame it got cancelled when it did.

Another vote for the omitted series - ENTERPRISE!!!!!!!

The huge majority of the episodes in the 4th season easily ranks up among the best for all of Star Trek.
