For the OP I believe you would like DS9 best if you liked Firefly. I believe that series would be more in line with your tastes.

So as it goes...

The original series may be a little lacking in special effects but it was a ground breaking show and definitely worth watching. TNG is also very good and the special effects are much more up to date.

The other two you mentioned are complete crap. Don't waste your time.

Hahahaha, ok, well Babylon 5 did have a plot, which required you to watch every episode in order, the acting was barely watchable.

DS9 is my favorite Trek series. It, like all the non TOS series starts out slow but by the end of Season 2 with the introduction of the Dominion it picks up it's pace and the direction of the show is set.

TNG never had any real direction or epic feeling to it. The biggest a story arc got was 2 episodes. While it had some good episodes, DS9 i feel has some of the best Trek episodes ever. Trials and Tribble-ations, In the Pale Moonlight, and Duet are 3 that come to mind.

The first season of TNG is cringeworthy. It is goddamn terrible compared to any of the other trek series.

Babylon 5 had a really good story, but the acting was crap.

TOS was actually pretty decent. Enterprise was ok. Voyager was just annoying. DS9 rules all.

Also, I've noticed that a like for a particular series is based on age and with which Trek you started with. Younger people and people new to Star Trek seemed to like Voyager a lot, as for a lot of them it is their 1st taste of Trek. Voyager had no connection with Star Trek I feel. The writing was half ass. Captain Janeway was to wishy washy. In one episode she would follow the Prime Directive even if it meant her crew would be stuck in the Delta Quadrant for longer, while in other episodes she wouldn't think twice about screwing some alien species to get her crew back home quicker.

Enterprise plain sucks. It tried to re-invent Star Trek but failed, in that they stated that they didn't care if it contradicted existing Trek they were trying to start it over, and by starting over, all they wanted to do was try to make it flashy and sexy and not worry about what makes Star Trek, a story of humanity and morality.

Yet they made 176 episodes and 3 movies out of that series. Without TNG there never would have been any of the others.

I say this as a negative against Voyager. If Captain Janeway was sooo frikken smart, then why have any of the crew?

It always seemed to me that they always had someone aboard ship who spent their entire life's work on a particular subject. Then the ship has a problem that this person should be able to solve. But no, it takes the Captain to come up with some idea that this person never thought of to save the day.

I got tired of the show during the first season.


I liked DS9 because it had more political commentary near the end of the series.

i've never seen the entire TOS. TNG and Voyager were awesome. DS9 sucked in my opinion. Think of it like this, in voyager in the 4th season, you get Jeri Ryan as Seven of Nine. you get a busty hot chick in a cat suit.

Plus, voyager has a lot of cool borg stuff. Unfortuantly, they still have the occasional episode with Q. a lot less though. Both TNG and Voyager are the best imo.

I just can't understand how anyone can say they like Voyager better then TNG. Voyager is total shit. The acting is pretty terrible even for scifi, most of the characters are kind of annoying and I'm sorry fap crew...but borgs are not hot. At least the borg queen still looked like a cadaver...thats what borg look like!

TOS is fun to watch, and I can understand how some may like it best as it started it all. But TNG owns all of the other ones easily. The static envirnoment that a space station represented in DS9 never really grabbed me, but it did have a cool federation attack ship and later the second coolest TNG character joined the cast so it wasn't to bad.

TNG was great. A lot of cool ideas for episodes. The cold war with the romulans was neat, the borg were introduced, a lot of awesome Klingon culture and more plausible feeling characters.

TNG did have a few annoying things: Too many "Holideck gone crazy" episodes (just cut the power to the room with an axe already) Troy's empathy power that allowed her to state the obvious at every turn, Q is an asshole, and of course weasly crusher. But the positronic pimp was on that show! Was Data on any of the other shows? No? Then TNG automatically wins.

1. Routine mission, why did they send their best ship for this? It certainly has nothing to do with any story before or after this one.
2. OMG, the laws of reality are fuxored! We're boned.
3. The situation gets worse for 30 minutes, extras are dying!
4. With 10 minutes left, miracle gadget/cure is pulled from somebody's ass.
5. With 5 minutes left, reflect on what a close call that was. Roll credits.
