i work at CC, we stopped offically PMing TRU after 11, but most of the us just PM anyway, like you said, somewhere someone still has it for 9.99 and in stock. then we got introuble, and had to call up places. We have the #'s right there, none of that "u call them" bullsh*t BB gave you. i was still PMing AOTC a couple of hours before we closed( called a walmart with plenty in stock). be careful though, i called 1 walmart(they were out and it was $14.99), had to call a 2nd one for the 9.99 price. maybe im biased cuz i work at CC, but i think generally BB has crappy customer service...
I work at CC, too. What store are you working at? (I'm a manager, ). We were pricematching all day both FS and WS, no question asked, and we even do it for more than 1 DVDS (TRU limits one DVD per customer). Depend on the store manager, the store's associates' attitudes may differ a lot. Some store managers are jerks! And CC is trying to get all the store managers in the right direction, it will take time, however.
If a store has a pricematch policy, they should honor it no questions asked. If they want to hassle you about every pricematch, why have a pricematch policy at all. Ever see the commercials advertising their low price guarantees? They make it look so easy, yet most of the time you are trying to scale a wall with your teeth
If you just think about it for another minute, you will understand. There are a lot of companies out there that are practicing unethical business behaviors, they will adversite items as low as they want, but they either do not have those in stocks, or have about 5-10 items in their main warehouse. With that situation, they can also lower the price as often as they want (
we won't lose any money because we did not have anything in stock to sell). That's why it's very important to understand that the competitor needs to have them in stock if you want to pricematch. In this particular case, we honor it no question (in my store) because TRU is not one of those unethical companies. and again, there are still a lot of CC store managers that don't understand anything about Customer Service. If you want to keep CC in business, feel free to call the Cool Line number (you can see it at every CC's front desk) and complain about it, CC will appreciate it.
Some posts up there were right, CC is using red and gray and black colors. Those colors suck. They look so dark and sad. BB stores are a lot brighter. Maybe we need a retailer with CC Customer service and BB stores' presentation.
