So, does anyone know when Toys R Us opens in the morning on Tuesdays? I want to get there bright and early...

Yeah, me too. I called them this morning and the VM message was that they open at 10:00 AM. Today's Sunday, so it's possible that they open earlier Tuesday, but I somehow doubt they have a different message for different days of the week. My paper didn't have their ad this week, but I figure the deal's on anyway. Maybe not, but I figure I'll try.

No, its going to be the first movie to go from production, to editing, to release, all in digital. so, it may look better, but the dvd its self is not going to be any different. infact i would think that it will look no different that most movies, film is just as good or even better than digital. The big thing is, its the worlds first. ooooooo

but it says they have two versions... normal and (P&S) version...

what does this mean??

That's not how it works. They won't charge until they ship, but they WILL charge you the price you ordered it at. In order to get that lower price you will need to bring it back to a store and ask them, or call up best buy and ask them. Easier just to wait to order it.

If they changed the charge to the lowest at the time of shipping they would lose some money, and they won't do that unless you ask them Also, sometimes they put through a "hold" on your credit card for that amount at the time of your order before they ship, they might have to do another hold for a differant charge amount.

Anyway, I've never seen companies that voluntarily reduce the price on the charge for you AFTER you ordered at a higher price.

actually, bestbuy.com has always lowered my cost to the lowest quoted price on their site on the day of the actual release of the DVD. For example, LOTR the first version was reduced $5 between the time I ordered and when it actually shipped, and I was charged the lower of the two costs. I don't know of other sites that do this, but bestbuy.com does and they even mention this on their site.

If you are talking about CC, it's not true. They are doing very well and their profits have been increasing = the typical measure of how well a company's doing.

I dont know how this has turned into a completely off topic discusion, o wait, it was me

CC is NOT doing well.

"The nation's second-largest seller of electronic gadgets said slow sales of big-ticket items like digital satellite systems and wireless communications would push the retailer into the hole for the third quarter. The fourth-quarter profits look dubious, though Circuit City (CC: news, chart, profile) continues to forecast same-store sales in the high single-digits. See full story."

Text

"For the third quarter, Circuit City (CC: news, chart, profile) expects to record a loss of 5 to 8 cents a share, excluding one-time items. The Wall Street consensus estimate was a loss of 1 cent a share, according to a Thomson First Call survey.

Circuit City said it had expected a 'small profit.' "

I am kinda bias, and we are in an economic slump. BUT if you go to BB and CC, whos parkin lot is full, and whos is not?

sorry for the crap.

What about the pixar movies that were dumped direct from the animation computers to DVD master.

Good question. I didn't see an insert in yesterday's S.F. Chronicle. I printed the ad linked in this thread and figure I can bring it with me and it may help. If the deal won't be honored in California, I'd prefer to save myself the trouble of being denied, of course.

I just called my local TRU....oh my god what an ordeal. Anyway, after the annoying recording repeated itself about 200 times I called another store that wasn't so local and they said that they go on sale tomorrow for $9.99. He also said they are not taking any more presales. I was going to call another store and see if they were taking pre-orders but I opted not to because of their sh*tty phone system. So hopefully I'll get there before they sell out tomorrow. I'm in Southern California by the way....
