Walmart in Anaheim had it for $9.49! But it was only widescreen. For $.50 more and the headache of going to another Walmart then I went off to cerritos and got the WS for $9.98. Its weird that some Wal-Marts got ALL full screen and zero wide.

Oh. And the BB in Cerritos was giving everyone a hassle about PMing to TRU. And when people got them to PM Walmart then they gave in (After 30 minutes) but stripped them of their calendars. BB is Suck (in Cerritos). (BB in Costa Mesa has always been incredibly friendly and cool about PM's though)

Im kicking myself for not just buying it full price w/calendar then turning right around and price matching it down to get my $5 back. The calendar is actually very cool because its of ALL the movies. Not just EPII. But im guessing that by now the calendars are all gone since it was only 300 per store.

I just pick one up in the TRU on W. Morena Blvd near Pacific Beach, San Diego.

A guy was handing them out near the entrance, widescreen or fullscreen.

price at the register was 9.99, which is $10.00 off the sticker price on the box!

thanks, y'all.

Citrus Heights CA Toys-R-Us was well-stocked but there were only two registers open and about 30 people in each line. They had a display in the front of the store where all the soccer moms and pseudo-nerds were grabbing handfuls of full screen versions. A display in the back had some widescreens left and the guys were constantly refreshing both displays with copies from the back. Took me an hour including round trip travel time so no lunch break today, but overall it was a much better experience than sales at most other stores.

I think TRU is going to come out okay on this one. About half of us just bought a copy of the DVD, but the other half were buying other things that caught there eye while they were there. That's freakin' enterprising. Make a small margin on a high profile item and get people into your store were they have a good chance of buying something else.

Just got back from the C.H. one.. I think I got the last widescreen copy on the display in the back. Kicking myself for not grabbing a couple more to Ebay, since they weren't enforcing the "one per customer" limit. They did have 4 registers going, but what sucked was all the soccer moms buying 3-10 copies, and having to do a seperate transaction for each one! "Lemme write another check, and record it in my check register for each of these next eight DVDs" BAH! In addition, they weren't pricing correctly, so each one had to be manually price-overridden.....:disgust:

My daughter just picked me up 2 of the WS at a Richmond, VA TRU, one for me and one for M-I-L. I figured eBay would be flooded with them so didn't bother getting any to hustle there.

Not to mention shipping too. There are suckers born every minute

The TRU I went to (Richardson, TX off 75 & Parker) only had Full Screen edition, not an issue with me since I only have a regular tv

Hmm. My S. F. Chronicle Sunday didn't have a TRU insert. Rifled everything twice... nada. Is my newpaper guy screwin' up again? Anyway, there were maybe 25 people outside the TRU in Emeryville this morning and I guess most everyone wanted SW. Got my WS.

Thanks bentwookie! Picked the widescreen version this morning.
Got their at 10:30 and they still had pleny left.

Surprisngly more than 1/2 of the fullscreen copies were gone while there were plenty of widescreen.
I guess people really don't like the black bars.

Thanks for the heads up, Bentwookie. At lunchtime, Houston Willowbrook TRU only had FS DVD's left, no WS. They said over 200 people lined up outside when they opened. Luckily, I kept the TRU sales flyer, crossed the street to Houston Willowbrook BB where they had a table set up just so the store manager could sign all the $9.99 price matching manual slips if you had the TRU sales flyer. Also got the free calendar to go with the $9.99 WS DVD price. No hassles, took an extra minute, got a free calendar and BB expected the crush of PM requests.

dont ever shop at Mira Mesa Best Buy! (san diego)

bastards told me TRU ran out 1 hour ago, so I couldnt price match. Seemed pretty fishy since it was only 11:15am when i got to the register, and TRU opens at 10am. So I drove 10 min to TRU and they had some fullscreens so I bought one. Then went right back to Best Buy and showed customer service my TRU receipt saying all the cashiers lied to me about TRU already running out. The girl said TRU only had the fullscreen thats why, so I coudlnt get the widescreen I had in my hand. I told her that I did get the widescreen, then she said I wouldn't be able to get the free calendar and she had to call TRU again. She came back saying they only have fullscreens, i replied back saying why would it matter if its full or wide. then she went on saying its higher quality blah blah. Its the same fricken quality, one jus has two black bars and the other one doesnt!

and i was planning on getting 3 movies with 3 calendars too.... damn.. mission failed

If it werent for soccer moms then full screen editions would never be sold...

I am certainly not a soccer mom, and I will only buy the PS version. Watching 2 black bars running across a non WS TV just drive me insane.

I guess it's part of corporate policy to hassle the customer before pricematching to prevent people from doing this although it's their policy to match prices. I guess it's also part of corporate policy to deny people the calendars when it says on the ad that the buyer gets a calendar if they buy it from them (says nothing about not getting it if you PM). Hmm..maybe their corporate office should hear about this...
