Just got back from the Woburn, MA Toyrsrus store and they have got plenty left. They are hiding them in the back of the store. It is in the worst possible place and you wouldn't find it unless you asked. They only have the VHS tapes out but they have the slips were you bring it up to the front and they grab a DVD from the stock room. I would guess to say they had about 20-30 widescreen and regular slips. It does say on the display that all three versions are $9.99.

Score one for me.

Toys 'R' Us in Tigard, Oregon was sold out of all DVD editions as of 11:45 Pacific. I think there might have been some VHS copies (whoop-de-doo). No Wal-Marts on this side of town and my lunch break wasn't long enough for me to go and attempt a PM at BB, CC, etc.

anyone find this online anywhere? I am a poor college student with no car. too lazy to take the bus. Plus it takes like 2 hours for a bus ride.

If you cant get it that cheap on line, where is the cheapest? Outpost is the cheapest so far i think, and buy.com will PM them, and give you free shipping.

Okay I'm glad Wallyworld wouldn't PM to TRU for me.
Went to my local BB and they PM'ed TRU with no issues, they didn't call or anything. I just handed them the AD.
Picked up a full screen to open and watch and got a widescreen to leave sealed for my collection of SW stuff.
The calendars made it a way sweet deal!

Got mine today for $10 as well. Heck of a deal.

I know some people who did the Best Buy thing and that worked out as well.

I am certainly not a soccer mom, and I will only buy the PS version. Watching 2 black bars running across a non WS TV just drive me insane.

I can't stand the FS or PS versions, but then again, I don't have Tunnel Vision
A lot of subtle details are lost in PS and FS edits...ugh....

Besides, on newer TVs you shouldn't notice those black bars if you turn out the lights.

Pricematch at BestBuy in Colorado just fine, no hassle, no phone calls, the dude just saw the ad and did it right away. They wouldn't give me the 110%, but hey I did get the free calander. Too Bad only 1 picture of Natalie portman in it though.

BTW It was at the Southwest Plaza Store.

have any of you successfully price matched using the print out of the ad that is attached to this thread? i don't have the actual advertisement, just the portion that was scanned in. so much trouble just to save $5. what am i talking about? i'd probably go through the same trouble to save $1!!!

Feh, my TRU was OOS by the time I got there after work, but the sign on the display said the special price was good til 11/20 so maybe they'll get some more in later this week.

I got mine in widescreen.. I am surprised that they are not promoting this more. The cashier I purchased it from is like "What? We have Star Wars for $10?"

Pricematched w/ Circuit City after I showed the actual ad from TRU. Got the Widescreen for $10.76. My TRU only had the Full Screen version. Completely forgot about pricematching Best Buy to get the Calendar. :frown:

Contrary to the horror stories, I got my copy of AOTC no sweat from the Arden TRU. Did the whole walk through the line twice thing to pick up all the copies I needed (everyone else is working or sleeping, stupid friends). Also got a PM at the BB next door to score a free calender.

I got my copies today , no mess, no fuss, no line.
But one little thing that I did notice, is that the signs on the AOTC movie display were pre-printed (red and black on white paper stock)ones from the TRU home office,
not the signs that were printed up in store ( black laser ptint on standard TRU signage), so when the oh-so-informed general manager told me monday night that 9.99 was VHS only, he obviously got his wires crossed.

Oh well, I got my copies, and i'm happy.

I almost had trouble getting a widescreen version this morning at TRU, Long Beach, CA. I had to flip the guy in line with me for the last one. He won the coin-toss, but luckily the register clerk found another behind the counter. Either TRU didn't stock many widescreens or there was just a overwhelming preference. I was there at like 9:32am too - mere minutes after they opened...

Must be the AT/FW effect in full-force

Edit: Oh yeah, I noticed that the VHS version was going for $5 or $5.99 or something. Was I too sleepy to register the price properly? Does anyone still buy VHS anymore? Dunno...

When I got to TRU they were sold out of the widescreen version but I had no problem getting BB to pricematch. I just showed them the flyer.

FYI widescreen lovers, the store manager in emeryville, ca. said that we can buy the fullscreens now and trade them in 2-3 days for the widescreen.

In George Lucas' marketing wisdom , he added some extra features on the vhs, not available on the dvd...something called "beneath the dome" feature, the dvd has a preview of it.

Thanks to bentwookiee!!!great name!

Looks like they've sold out in Silicon Valley - too many geeks I guess!

I went to Sunnyvale Toys'R'Us at 12pm and they had just sold out (last 30-odd were in the queue) of widescreen, plenty of fullscreen left.

Just got back from Santa Clara Fry's (4pm) they had WS but would only PM to $14.87 as TRU were out of stock.

Funnily enough Fry's had sold out of fullscreen as they were the only ones they were still PM'ing to $9.99

No calendars.

I was tempted to get the WS for $15 and PM it later somewhere else. Might go to SC CompUSA tonight, friend is going to SC Circuit City, another friend is going to Palo Alto Fry's - this is stupid!

Edit: SC CompUSA in all their dumbass glory, didn't even know AOTC was out yet, let alone have any stock, plus the manager's an arse when it comes to pricematches anyway..... A friend got the last WS from Circuit City in San Jose last night

Edit 2: Just been to Mountain View Circuit City, they've got loads of WS but at $14.99, they won't PM as Sunnyvale TRU don't have any
stock. So Fry's is still the cheapest....

Edit 3: San Mateo TRU are out of Widescreen, but I finally bought 2 for $9.99 each after pricematching at Sunnyvale Blockbusters - just took the print out of ad - no problem - they didn't phone TRU or anything. Blockbusters rocks, screw Fry's/Circuit Shitty! BTW, these were new, not pre-viewed, but they do expect to have $9.99 pre-views soon, without pricematching.

Went to my TRU last night (Princeton NJ area) and put down $5 on it. Went around 1ish to pick it up, there were no displays or anything out for it. I had to ask a person in the electronics department, and he got it from the back. Not sure if that means they were all sold out of non pre-orders (wouldn't surprise me), or they were just handing them out when people asked for them (wouldn't really make much sense).

Picked up a Widescreen at TRU on the East side of Indianapolis. Had plenty of DVD's left on the display, but most were Fullscreen.

Thanks for the thread!
