The fact that they went with 1) A campaign, and one that explores more of the Empire's side of things at that... and 2) All Eras... needs to be commended.
The only thing that I can't fathom is how - once more - the biggest maps will have a limit of 40 players for ground battles, and a meager 20 (20!) for space battles. I sincerely don't get that. Sure, there's "engine differences" and schedules to meet, and standards and, complexity (maybe?) of 'doing that', etc. The thing is I can add 60 bots in UT99 if I feel like it, or to give an example for a more recent game running on a more recent - competitive - engine to Frostbite I can also add a crap load of bots in the new still under-development Unreal Tournament running on UE4 in pretty much all maps even if they weren't designed for more than 8 players in mind. I can also just play Battlefield 4...
So please, someone, tell me how difficult it would be for DICE to do in Battlefront 2 what they've always been doing for Battlefield (I.E. 64 players). Or rather, why they aren't doing it for Battlefront 2. Does that have anything to do with perhaps the lack of dedicated servers? Oh gosh... please, no.
The player limit has not been announced for Battlefront 2. Battlefront 1 was rushed out the door because they were required to launch with the movie.
Player limit is probably low because it's a console port.It has.
On the official web site: https://www.ea.com/games/starwars/battlefront/battlefront-2
Scroll down to "Expended Multiplayer" (I love that adjective). That's for ground battles.
Then scroll down to Space Battles. I did, however, make a mistake, Space Battles isn't 20 players, but 24... I can't wait for my super epic Star Wars universe space battles on a modern engine with my 11 teammates against 12 other human players with most likely fixed, non-moving, scripted space battle ships and objectives.
The trailer looks awesome.
All rendered trailers (IE no gameplay) look awesome, just look at the Witcher 3...the only difference is Witcher 3 is a good game. Hah, had to.
Wonder if this will be any different than 2015's disaster? While pretty the gameplay really left much to be desired, and felt extremely casual with the stupid powerup bs. Has DICE learned from their mistake? I doubt it, but time will tell...as will a free alpha/beta.

Did you watch the trailer? It had big text saying "in game footage". So unless they are lying (which they will get shredded over if so) I am inclined to believe it. Nothing looking beyond what the FB engine can do. But I wasn't even talking about the graphics, so much as the content itself.
I have a game called Star Wars Battlefront II in my Steam library from 2005. Is this a remake?
Not so much of a remake as it's more of a game using the same name. It (at least 2015 Battlefront) is a lot different than the original Battlefronts from the 2000s.
Have they said anything about single player bot games for all game modes and dlcs? If not I'll continue to keep my money in my pocket or give it to Activision. I'm happy to wait until the game gets to $5 with free dlc like BF4 and Titanfall. Battlefront has already been $10 so it won't be long now.
That's good to hear but I'm definitely going to wait for a confirmation. I know they added some AI stuff to the first version but no single player for the DLCs. I don't even care about a campaign. Just give us the same thing we had with the original battlefront 1 and 2. I bet I had over 1000 hours playing bots in the original battlefront. I have over 450 hours in battlefield 2 and 300 in black ops II all playing single player.Ive heard that you can skirmish most of the modes against the AI instead of ADD teens high on Rockstar. If most of the game is forced to be multiplayer, thats a pass for me.
Looks like the movie.
