I agree with this. I was on Scilla server from day one till the space expansion... it was an AMAZING game pre CU and it was pretty darned good post CU.

We all eventually left for EQ2 and WoW, though.

I'd go back to the game if they went back to pre-CU.

I'm a veteran. I can tolerate the changes. I come back now and then- no, I'm not a Jedi. Closest I'll ever get to the SW world.

I actually got connected to one of the PreCU servers last night, man it brought back memories. Only problem was it's still in Test Production mode so theres no quests and theres no XP, still was fun walking around and fighting dewbacks. Been so long since I played that game and it just brought back so many memories. I actually logged onto my station.com account and it showed I cancelled in 4/2004. I never have tried the game since the changes that they made but I don't know if I want to from what I have been hearing it's just a waste. Playing yesterday I remember the graphics being better, I dunno even at 1600x1200 with aa and af turned up it looked just okay, for some reason I guess the game doesnt have WS modes. Still was a nice blast from the past, I hope they get everything like quests and xp working atleast. I started teras kasi again and it was pretty fun. They had buffs setup easier didn't even have to go visit anyone it was just a command, trainers were lined up right in the city.

The lag was awful though, their servers couldn't handle shit. Now the game sucks though, stay away and let SOE rot. They seem to hate the people who play their games

Tell me about it! I sold my Jedi account on ebay for like $800.

Pre-CU? Someone is doing a classic SWG server? Why does it seem like every mmo seems to have a classic server nowadays? Someone could make a lot of money in design by proving they could make good expansions. Just move from game to game making it BETTER and not worse.

Are you that bad of a poster you assume I am a child? I have been in the IT industry for 17 years and have several computer science degrees and work for the state and federal governments in technology training. Get a grip with your assumptions.

How did you get me as a childish gamer l337 speek SW fainboi yadah yah from telling you SWG runs pretty damn good on modern PCs?

And no, I won't get my head and bitterness out of 2005. I played this SWG since beta. I think I have a right to bitch and moan about what a craptastic game it is now, after losing more than 100 million to nerfed crafting, weapons, armors, mounts, you can pretty much name it all. And I wasn't even a hard core merchant, like many were. The game went from a complex and subtle game involving the quality of crafting items using exotic materials and making the best items to a game that anyone can make average craptastic items exactly alike in.

And at the same time people adapted and moved on. I won't disagree that the economy isn't as suitable for crafters as it was in early 2004 when I joined the game ( like it matters if you were a beta tester lol ). Fact is the early economy was highly romaticized each time they touched it. On Bloodfin in 2004 it was hard to make cash even in 15 man groups and it was hard to find items in vendors. It would sometimes take days to run down a simple upgraded carbine that wasn't over priced and underpowered.

Did you like how they added post NGE game content to get points for flagging millions of condemned buildings across the galaxies? Because the programmers were too lazy to add in the buggy code to automatically destroy them? WOW! This games REALLY going places! =P

I was pretty pissed how they implemented NGE and one of the players who tested the NGE for the short time before it went live. My guild quit when it hit live and so did I. We were all respec'ing jedi at the time and the last 2 months of our efforts were just up ended and made void. I also ordered ToOW which was never reimbursed for even though I went through their channels. I was burned. But 18 months later I decided to go back to the game and give it a shot. We stayed in it for 2 solid months and some of the guild returned even getting ToOW on my recommendation. We completed the tasks that we set out and made lvl 80 jedi and finished most of the ToOW content and completed the RotW content just to round it off.

The game is in a whole lot better shape now that it EVER was feature and code wise. Its more of a complete game. The game is dead to me now, I don't actively sub anymore and just watch my Bloodfin community from the forums I visit and the numbers are still there and its active as it was. But I won't resub.

The game was dumbed down almost 95% after the NGE and you hard core rabid SW fanboys still just can't get enough of the exciting SW universe. Enjoy it. But don't even begin to presume it is the same engrossing game it was before.

Man you are so bitter its rediculous. If you actually tried the game now you'd find it is no less or more dumbed down than it originally was. It was always an easy game. The real chore was always resource collection which is diverse now as it ever was. You just sound like a person who used to make tons of cash of krayt skins and pearls and now you can't. Boo hoo. There is so much diversity in the creature handling profession now it makes 2003/4 weapon and armor smithing look like chumpish games. Also, the armor smithing is arguably the best it has ever been in SWG.

They only people playing it now are those that get a general station pass to play all those online games lumped together for one low price. And for that deal, I guess its OK to spend 30 minutes at a time playing it using the space expansion. But most people would rather play Everquest on that station pass, and rightly so.

There you go with those assumptions again.

And SERIOUSLY anyone paying for 17 accounts JUST ON SWG for newb account owneage really needs to get another life, hobby or both.:thumbsdown:

Man you need to get a grip. Don't tell others what to do with your life. All the frothing at the mouth you are doing and implying I am a child or some young buck... you sure do use l337 speak yourself. Look in the mirror and stop trying to pour your bitterness on others.

When I went to the SWG forums, I was not the only one having the problem running the game at all. Thanks for all your high tech input though on how it works great on modern PCs. You are obviously wrong in that statement and I have 2 PCs I know of that won't run it. But for all intents and purposes it should run, since it's an old, graphically outdated game. So take a long look in that holier than thou mirror and face it first before you arrogantly assume wrongly next time.

And myself and my friend both got refunds on the gimped expansion, and yet still have it active on our accounts. Too bad you couldn't overcome such a simple hurdle.

I froth at the mouth because the world is full of human rubbish that likes to take the ass out of assume on most posters here. I am no more bitter than you about the game, it seems. We all have opinions, and yours is no more right or wrong than mine is. Just don't confuse facts with opinions.

SWG is DEAD. SONY and Lucas Arts KILLED IT. And all your pointless bitterness towards me won't change a thing or bring back my guilds or cities.
