Hey guys

I'm looking to buy a new game now that school is over. I've been playing Need For Speed: Underground from time to time but I finally beat it. It was a great game, but I would like to play something that will last me a little longer. What do you guys recommend?

Thanks!

SW if you like big long Single Player games with story and running around all over the place doing things.
COD if you like very fast paced action, fps, and online play.

I love online play, but I am a little worried about CoD, because I didn't like BF1942 at all. I was really into CounterStrike though. I have to say CounterStrike is my favorite FPS game of all time. I also loved Diablo 2, but didn't really like any MMORPG games. Am I really picky or what?

So I take it that KOTOR doesn't have multiplayer option? How long is the single player?

Well, KOTOR is an RPG, so you can do the sidequests and it will take a lot longer, or you can just plow through it and it won't be nearly as long, it depend on the type of player you are.

KOTOR will probably last you a lot longer than CoD, but CoD is still a great game. Download the CoD demo and see if you like it.

I have both, and have to say that KOTOR was like crack cocaine.

Finished it already, but the whole experience was really enjoyable.

COD is same gamplay as Medal Of Honor (which isn't completely a bad thing). Looks and feels exactly the same to me.

However, comparing them are apples and oranges.

CoD has better graphics and a way better AI for both teammates and enemies. CoD also add the feature of looking down the iron sight to aim.

Well, if you get hooked on CoD multiplayer then it'll last you longer than KOTOR.

What about Raven Shield? Haven't played Counter Strike yet. How does CS compare to Raven Shield??

I am a CS maven and I liked the demo of COD, try the demo.

Only problem with the demo is you cant adjust the controls.

I don't have a link, but just do a google search.

I haven't picked up Call of Duty yet, but KoTOR is the best game I've played in a long time, easily the best I've played this year.

IIRC my first play through took up about 40 hours or so, doing a good deal of the side quests(playing through on the light side) my second play through took me around 30-35 hours(doing all the side quests I had found at that point, dark side), my third and fourth time through the game took me about 25-30 hours to play through again doing pretty much all of the side quests. No multiplayer, but IMO the game has more replay value then any single player RPG I've ever played. There are so many different choices you make that change the course of events in the game, how your character ends how good chunks of the game play out that it really is worth playing through multiple times.

Storyline is stellar, they could make a movie out of the basis of the storyline in the game and I think the overwhelming majority of people would say it was far superior to that of the current trilogy.

I am biased on this issue, if you can't figure out by my handle I'm a big Star Wars fan, that said KoTOR is hands down the best SW game I've ever played and one of the best games period.

Best bang for the buck is KOTOR.....many, many, many, many days of gameplay if you play non-stop. If you're the type that sits down for a "15 minute game", it'll take you a month to beat it. Lots of fun, and the PC version has the best graphics of course. I'm currently trying to decide whether to get COD or BF1942....decisions, decisions...

Enjoy! And remember, you can play through the game as either a good guy (Light Side of the force) or a bad guy (Dark side of the force), and as such, you have 2x as much gameplay since they way you solve problems for each is veryyyy different, thus leading to different possibilities for gameplay.

I know it's not exactly what the poster asked for, but since BF1942 was mentioned more then once I'll throw my $.02 in. I have gotten my money's worth out of 1942 more times then I could ever imagined. What makes this game so dang appealing is the number of free mods available, which can not only enhance the gameplay experience but to make you feel like you're playing totally different game. Search FS/FT forums, you're bound to find one for $20.00 or so. Download Desert Combat and Eve of Destruction mods to get started, you won't be sorry. And if you find that you don't like the game after all, you should have no problem selling it for $20.00 and get your money back.
