its a good price, it was exactly that price when i first got my zon card and used the 25$gc on the indiana trilogy. And the prices in the sunday paper where between 40-50$, never lower, so im almost certain it will be the same case.

You buy it and after the checkout you're given the option to tell your friends about it. They get a 10% discount.

that's a pretty good price. But do you know if this is the original edition or the special edition (I prefere the second one).

Hopefully there will be more deals on this.

This is special edition, as Lucas said he's never releasing original edition again. I prefer the original edition for about 4 reasons. 1) Han Solo is the kinda guy who would shoot FIRST not 2nd. 2nd Gets you dead fast. WTF was lucas thinking? 2) I like the celebration of original better, and the music was better. 3) The stupid new dance routine for Jabba is just plain silly. 4) Jabba meeting Han Solo in the New Hope movie? haahhahahah. He looked retarded, plus he was way bigger in the Empire Strikes back.
But looks like we dont get a choice, as I said, lucas has publically said he will never release original version again, only special. And he's said that this DVD set will be only the special edition.

BTW, amazon has this for $41.99 as well. If buy.com wants to charge you tax, order from amazon.com

I agree completely. The fact that a bounty hunter missed his shot at point blank range is rather disturbing. Also Han Solo did not fire from the side, he fired from under the table. You do not see his arm or any laser beam in the true original. You only hear the blast.

The other big offense for me was in Empire Strikes Back when Luke Skywalker fell into the chute/chasm after confronting Vader. The added echoing scream from Luke did not fit in there at all.

George Lucas completely lost his mind when he made the SE. I'm sad that we will never get the originals on DVD.

i got the originals on widescreen vhs, i don't really mind the changes that much since i'm not a hardcore star wars geek, its just great to have them on dvd for a good price.

I'm going to wait until Episode 3 comes out on DVD which is most likely at the end of 2005. After this movie, I'll purchase the entire box set full 6 DVDs.

Also waiting for Episode 3 so I can get the extended superbit special platinum box edition with director, producer and actors interviews, deleted scenes as well as the ability to watch all versions as they originally were shown, and of course with the inclusion of the special featurette of 'Dude, Where's My Light Saber?'.

Am I mistaken or is Lucasfilm not restoring the "Han Shoots First" part back into the movie? Everyone's complaining about that, but I recall reading on Lucasfilm's own site that he will be shooting first.
