They had life scanners a couple of episodes when they scanned Geonosis and found it empty. Of course, they never scanned the orbital platform before the boarded it and completely missed the trap, derp. This episode wasnt bad, it served its purpose in setting up the finale. I get the feeling that Hera is to A-wing Pilots what Captain Kirk is to red shirt ensigns.
Anyhoo, Im wondering if theyll tie up some loose strings in the finale, namely whats going with Kallus and what happened to the super B-wings that should be laying waste to the empire by now. As for the main plot, Im think they all go to Malachor, where Ezra finds the crossguard lightsaber and gets corrupted by Darth Maul. All signs point towards Ahsoka getting killed off but technically its only the Jedi who were destroyed and she's not a Jedi, so maybe she can survive for a bit.
This season is about the 5 apprentices. Season finale is called Twilight of the apprentice.
Kanan - Started off as Apprentice but now the "twilight" of his apprenticeship has passed. He's a Jedi now.
Ezra - Apprentice of Kanan. Season finale might be his deciding what sort of apprentice he is going to be. Of the Dark side or light side. Probably doing the "Anakin story" without the burden of George Lucas influence or iconic Vader character.
Vader - King apprentice under the emperor of the dark side. His twilight will occur in Return of the Jedi went he becomes a pork roast.
Maul - Former apprentice of the emperor. The Episode title may mean that the big death will be the death of Maul at the hand of Vader. Twilight of Maul. we will get to see what happens to him and then see him die at the hands of his successor.
Ahsoka - Former apprentice of the Vader. To kill her as well as Maul would bring closure to the Clone Wars series and allow Disney to have a clean story line that leads to their take on the franchise. However, she is now a top tier character that offers a lot of potential to the story. I think it would be a mistake to kill her. Based on what this season has been about, I think the way it should be done is to bring closure to her relationship with Anakin\Vader. Where Twilight of the Apprentice" for her character is that Anakin is gone, replaced by Vader. so the battle between them is not so much a battle to the death, but her confronting him and the both of them accepting that neither of them is the person they once knew. That would allow them to develop a storyline where Vader has an actual role vs chasing to noob Jedi's around. Ahsoka would be the one character that offers Vader challenge.
Otherwise he lacks purpose in Rebels.
