What if it was only talking about the CGI movie and not the CGI series by the same name (or vice versa)? It's still not clear.

the many hours of content he developed and produced in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

That's all the CGI content under the name Star Wars: The Clone Wars. It doesn't make a difference between the movie and the series because it's both. Seems very clear to me.

Also, the 20th Century Fox claimed copyright on RedLetterMedia's YouTube Star Wars Episode II Attack of the Clones Mr. Plinkett review based on this movie, so it seems they haven't been very careful with the particulars of the way it's worded.

It still seems a little vague to me. It's clear as mud and it's a problem I saw coming miles away when they first announced a name that similar and then failed to give the movie a subtitle.

Clone wars the cgi tv series, the seven movies, and star wars rebels animated tv series are all canon.

This might still be possible....

Leia did guilt Han into bring their son back, and directly caused his death. She could be pulling Ben's(Kylo Ren) strings.... Han did leave her for some unknown amount of time.

It would be amazing if she's actually the one behind Snoke.

No no no . Think about the stance Luke did on the hill. Luke is the emperor. Luke did not want to be found. Luke ordered that the map be found so that it could not be used to find him.

Yeah. It's a shame he's so bitter about the whole thing, but it just makes it even more obvious that it was better for the franchise for him to be completely removed from it. The fact that he doesn't realize his input would be a detriment just shows how big his ego still is, even after the prequels and the ridiculous edits to the original trilogy.

Also his claiming that he was somehow swindled after getting paid $4 billion is just pathetic.

To be fair, I seem to remember that ST:TNG got better as they managed to slowly remove Roddenberry from it's production, right? Creators of the original content don't always know what's best. I think Roddenberry had the good sense to go a little more hands off though (and I would say, was far more visionary.)

I think it was explicitly stated that Snoke/Ren wanted it to KILL Luke. "Good job getting the map, Ren! Now sorry about killing him, I changed my mind."

One of my local movie theaters has $4 movie nights on Tuesdays... it's an independent theater. So i could basically see TFA 3 times for the price of 1 ticket at chain theaters.

Check your independent theaters to see if you have something similar!

Paid 5.75 for my ticket, place called the movie tavern, cheaper version of studio movie grill.

Yeah, Lucas seems sour, but I didn't take too much offence to that particular comment.

Given the comments from people in the thread, I'm wondering how many of them actually watched the video(s). Honestly, I agree with pretty much all of what Lucas is saying in it. The thing is... while he may be acting a bit sour over Star Wars Episode VII (his complaints about that seem to be directed around it being too similar to Episode IV), his comments seem to be directed at Hollywood in general. Most of his discussion tends to deal with studios that are only concerned with "playing it safe", which I think he words poorly in parts of the video. He says things like, "they're afraid of creativity", which isn't really true. They're afraid of losing money. I found it amusing given all the comments from people in this thread, because I've seen people on this very forum making the same complaints!

Disney said only movies+clone wars are canon. That's it. Disney didn't want to sift through all the EU stuff, but that didn't mean they would exclude it from films. That's why some of the books may seem relevant.

...that book has characters from the movie (Rey, Finn and Poe) on the cover. I'm pretty sure that it's meant to be canon.

Excellent. Although I'd be happy if only IV, V, VI, and VII were canon.

That's how I do it. Really no reason to waste time on anything else--and yes, I certainly did that many years ago, absorbing every piece of everything Star Wars that was available, shortly after RoTJ and up until the first remakes hit the theater...then eventually realized that this was all garbage.

and, now, it is all "officially" garbage.

Way to go, nerds of the world: you now have to somehow purge your minds of all of this Star Wars content to be considered a "true canon Star Wars nerd of the first order." :\

why didn't she go onboard one of her capital ships and command from there?

They didn't have any.

From what we saw all they had was some x-wings and that one small transport vehicle she had when she met Han.

So I doubt they could had evacuated the planet also in time but then again they did the same thing in IV when the death star was coming for them because it's a movie.

This book was commissioned by Disney for the movie, so from everything I've seen this is cannon. Having said that, I have no idea what'll be thrown out later.. I'm not even sure what's in the book other than more back story on Finn and why he was different.

I'm going to have to be the one star wars fan here who things TFA probably doesn't deserve the 95% rating on Rottentomatoes. I think it's far better than 1 and 2 maybe on par with 3 but I don't think it reaches the same levels of greatness as 4-6.

I don't think you are understanding what rotten tomatoes score means. 95% is the percentages of critics which gave the movie a 60% or higher score, it is not a rating of the film. Metacritic gives a composite rating of the film. They are giving an 81, which I think is fair.

I think the better question is why did she LEAD the Death Star to Yavin IV when she KNEW the Falcon was being tracked by Tarkin. :hmm:

Mark Hamill isn't in that bad shape. What if Daisy Ridley gets run over by a car in 2016?

well, that's what happened to Hamill between Star Wars and Empire, so they wrote in the wampa scene at the beginning, including the claws to his face, to explain his new and permanent scars.

Now I'm curious just what George's idea would have been for this trilogy, even though Disney went another way. The road not traveled if you will. I wonder if I would have liked it more, preferably in the hands of someone else running with his idea. It's possible, considering I took serious issue with the plot rehash of 7. I mean the Starkiller's destruction utterly paled in comparison to the impact of the first death star. Even the second one's destruction seemed more epic, and that wasn't even the climax of episode 6.

Better: they can jump inside the shield of the planet just fine in the falcon, so why don't the rebel fighters do the same?
