Yeap. I'm hoping that in some shape way or form we get to see a "Maz reveal" -- if that is getting to see the deleted scenes in an "unabridged" version (or "Director's Cut" if you want to call it that...), it would be great.

But if the scenes were deleted at the last minute because they decided for an even better reveal in Ep8, then that would be great too.

Sadly, I see this footage almost becoming like the filmed Jaba the Hutt scene from EP4. Removed from final version then shoved back in by Lucas in the specialized edition.

I would love to see it at some point in my life regardless of how Maz is/isn't revealed.

I think JJ said the deleted stuff about Maz involved storm troopers chasing her down the stairs where Rey is and something about her actually handing Luke's light saber directly to Leia. So since they redid all that to whats in the movie I doubt we'd see more Maz stuff till Episode 8.

Ugh, finally trying to see this thing on the weekend and the theatre only has two non-3D screening times! So obnoxious. It's like they don't want me to go to the movie.

KT

if i were to see it again i'd go non-3d. the effects were nice but it was way too dim ( 3D DLP theater )

The theater we went to see it at (a Cinemark) has a "XD" theater with higher-quality projection and sound with a larger projection screen, but of course the showing of the film in that auditorium was complete with 3D. Ugh, I have so badly wanted to see a movie in that auditorium to compare it to the others, but it's almost always 3D, and always for movies that were not shot in 3D.

I'll gladly see 3D when it was actually filmed with 3D cameras, but not a post-conversion, that's a waste of my time. I'll accept the lower brightness, it's a natural aspect of 3D projection, but only when it was intended from the beginning.

VII could have been great in 3D, there's a lot that even in post-conversion should have looked sweet. But dammit, I only want to imagine what it could have been like if it were truly shot in 3D. Because I bet the conversion meant they added lots of gimmicky 3D moments, but I just like natural 3D when it is there just to provide added depth to the scene.

Should try laser 3D.

The only thing that stuck out to me though was the text crawl and one shot with a star destroyer.

Meh, it wasn't great in 3D, wasn't special at all. I would have rather seen it in normal 2D, only wanted the special Star Wars 3D glasses.

Saw it in 2D and loved it. I just wish Carrie Fisher had been allowed to look her age instead of being made to look like her face was porcelain.

I actually think they should have pushed her age too. She defeated the Empire, rebuilt the republic, and had a wayward son bent on destroying the galaxy, which put a wedge in her relationship with her husband & drove her brother to become a hermit like Yoda. She has a lot of stress to deal with! They should have written more of that in, so that when you do see her the first time, you understand - and accept - why she looks so old. It bothered me that her face hardly moved at all when she talked.

Is this just a random collection of unfunny images from the movie and SNL skit with a Snickers bar 'shopped in or is there a joke hiding in there somewhere? Thanks for sharing.

From what I can gather, that particular user is reposting every single picture even slightly related to this movie that they see... regardless of if there's a point or even if the picture is any good

I think... THINK the "joke" is supposed to be related to the Snickers commercial where the person "isn't themselves when they are hungry" So they eat a Snickers and then are back to normal.

Do you get it now? HILARIOUS, right?

Why was Rey collecting pieces of scrap to trade for food when there were spaceships on the ground with billions of tons of scrap?

Cuz... uh... those were owned by people?

Or are you talking about the crashed Star Destroyers and such? That is what she was scavenging. And I don't think she was just turning in aluminum cans, they were specific valuable parts/modules she was scavenging -- not just bulk alternators.

Yeah, but should't those ships have some valuable electronics inside?

Also, is scrap metal entirely worthless on this planet because of these crashed ships?

No.

He did just use the force to throw Rey like 50 feet back and slam her into a tree prior to engaging Finn. With the wave of his hand he could have destroyed Finn and taken no further damage. It's broken continuity in exchange for an adrenaline thrill-ride action flick scene common-man turned hero. There is zero explanation, zero excuse, for that scene other than "it's a movie."

It's hinted at that Finn may be force sensitive too. Kylo stared at Finn in the scene in the beginning as if something was special about him and then called him out by name as the traitor as if he saw it coming. Finn isn't just a regular storm trooper. Or maybe Kylo thought he was cute.

^Spoilers.

Maybe the parts she scrapped did contain electronics in sealed housings... /shrug

If the latter is the case then he might have to throw down with Poe for Finn's affections

They've obviously been getting scavenged for a really long time. She's clearly willing to take risks for some of what is left. My guess is that droids and asteroid mining make scrap metal nearly worthless.

I figured that Kylo stopped and looked at Finn because of how Finn kept hesitating, which Stormtroopers shouldn't be doing.

I'm sure there is valuable stuff inside, but that's already in inventory. Just because they have inventory doesn't mean they don't want more.

I thought it was because Finn was Force sensitive. I get now they did it to do a plot twist later in the movie. It's one of the issues I have with the movies, they spent way too much time trying to hint at me that Finn was Force Sensitive only to drop it later. Looking back at it, making him not FS later on makes things make less sense than a garbage man who knows how to take out the uber-Death Star, on a midnight raid.

But why would Kylo Ren care about the goings on of a regular Storm Trooper? That's not his problem. That's up to his commander.

Yeah, that's part of what I'm worried about. I generally find 3D to be a waste of time and I hate that the film is always a bit darker. Going to try again this weekend to get into a 2D screening, the times just did not work last weekend. :\

If you go to a 3D laser digital IMAX theatre, it's not too dim. Looks great actually.

I went to both: 3D laser digital IMAX in downtown Toronto - excellent quality, and non-laser 3D digital IMAX in a Montreal suburban shopping mall - horrible. I guess the good news is the shopping mall tickets were less than half the price of the good theatre.

The problem is most of the 2D theatres were also second rate. But I guess maybe they'd at least be brighter than the 2nd rate 3D theatres.

But yeah, I dislike 3D in general. If there had been a first rate 2D theatre showing the movie, I would have gone there. But for some reason, there was only one IMAX theatre in all of Canada showing it in 70 mm 2D, and it was in my old hometown of 200000 people.
