With a mix of low-medium settings I had no problem pushing ~50fps during gameplay. The only setting that brought it to its knees was raising the shaders above low. The only other big difference between mine and his laptop is i run windows 7 and have no spyware and shit running.
People on TL were saying that this is f'd up and you have to do it before you go to Char or else it won't work (the mission doesn't show up in the "past missions" log). Anyway, if you already went to Char like I did, you can go to the "unsaved" directory in Explorer, dig up one of the Media Blitz autosaves and play from there.There is a secret stage on "Media Blitz" (I think that's the name of the stage).
Well, more specifically, there is an item you obtain from blowing up a building in the bottom right part of the map. After you pick up the item and complete the mission (any difficulty), go to your starmap and there will be a bonus mission.

I wasnt sold on the story writing either, guess they didnt hire the original writers, the new story focused too much on Jimmy's petty personal conflict, the story is not nearly as grand and epic as original one, which was on galactical scale. I also liked the Earth federation came in all the way try to take over the Dominion, and they each tried to use each other to wipe others out, in the new story they all seem one dimensional. but then again, we only seen 1/3 of the story, not the whole picture yet.
Well, I'm sure if you went to Char already, you can complete the campaign first and then go back to the media blitz stage.....right?

why was the overmind being good a bad thing? all of your typical aliens are mindless swarms that go around and kill everything. from a story standpoint, i thought it was interesting that the overmind was essentially cursed with rational thought but no free will.
tassadar still being alive was kinda weird, but it may be that the khala is actually a sort of living union of all protoss, but few know how to truly access it (tassadar having powers of both the dark and "light" templar). of course, then why would Adun, the only other templar to possess dark/light powers, not have the same abilities throughout protoss history.
the hybrids were mentioned in a bonus mission at the end of SC1, so they didn't exactly come out of nowhere.
the kerrigan thing i kinda agree on. in a way it was good, but in a way it was also kinda lame. what i really want to see now is raynor finish taking down mengsk. and with kerrigan human again, what will happen during the Heart of the Swarm game? I normally hate playing zerg, but now I'm really interested in how the story will play out.

Did you actually check the autosaves from Windows Explorer? At least in my case, there were a ton more autosaves physically on the disk than what was shown in the game's 'recent' list. (Why the game doesn't show them even though they are retained and take up space is a bit of a WTF.)

Ok, so I just finished the gates of hell stage.
I thought once you go to Char, you can't replay missions, but there's a tab next to laboratory that says "archives" and I just went back and did an older mission.
cant do new ones, depending on how you progress through the story you end up with char available before you finish the ghost, toss, whatever parts
yes that's what i mean, if you didn't finish the alternate stages and go to char you cant go back unless you revert to an earlier save. I could be 100% wrong but that's how i interperated it and finished everything else off before going
Have you finished the final mission yet? i'm not sure you can chose to do the other choice before you do.also if you haven't have fun belly makes the final stage a lot fucking harder
