Well, they wont be making a new engine for each game and probably not many new models & textures, so theres no reason they couldnt have each of them out in 6 months.

Wow this has to be the slowest installing game I have ever... installed

You should feel lucky... my install failed near the end of the first attempt. I closed the installer and it crashed my system . I really need to figure out why my memory (which shows no errors during tests) is supposedly bad. I'm wondering if it's improper voltage or timing... hrmmm :hmm:.

The second install worked and went even faster than normal... although I'm sure using a SSD certainly doesn't hurt .

I'm rather digging the CE Diablo Marine avatar picture... looks fairly evil!

After I clicked "Launch" for the first mission, it just sat there frozen for a good minute or two. After starting the mission itself, it sat there frozen on the loading bar... is anyone else seeing this or is it just me?

Everything loaded super slow for me until I defragged and then it ran really well but you installed it on an SSD so that won't work.

No it's not only you. It's froze on me once completely and has done short freezes here and there.

Units also randomly turn invisible if I have my 2nd monitor enabled. Strange.

Well, glad to know that it's not just me! I'm playing with everything on the highest setting in Windowed mode. I also have two monitors.

I played about a dozen missions and felt a little bit underwhelmed by the single player campaign. Even when I crank up the difficulty, there isn't any intensity felt throughout the game.

My other big disappointment was the presentation of the game. Graphically, I didn't have high expectation, but the game looks worse than older gen games like command & conquer. The units themselves are presented with very little details and are very difficult to differentiate between each others.
The sound effects are also underwhelming. You get very little audio feedback when you are blowing stuff up. The voice acting is even worse with some pretty bad writing overall. I would much rather have a CGI scene between every few missions than dealing with Raynor's corny lines. It just spoils the SP experience.

The display bug only takes place during cinematics and when you are on the Hyperion in the single player campaign. It's like you can see "seams" on parts of the screen. It's a very odd effect and only shows up on some shots. I should have tried to grab a screenshot.

There are no AA bugs during gameplay though.

I'm actually grateful for that. Am tired of so many games that dont really have any difference between easy and hard.

In the original Dawn of War the easy mode was just right and harder modes were spaced out and provided a proper increment of challenge at each point. Then they made big patches to the game which included a major overall to the AI. After that, Easy was a joke and Normal was significantly tougher. Hard and Hardest seemed to be about the same as Normal. I dont know why they did that.

Given the ridiculous install times, I would suggest you run a defrag. I do that anyway after a big game install but for those of you having issues with SC2 it seems like it might be worth a shot.

Anyone feeling a Mass Effect 2 vibe when playing the SP campaign? The "in-between mission" segments include picking planets on where your next mission is, upgrading at the armory/laboratory, and every character pretty much has something new to say between each mission. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, I actually like it. The presentation is very well done and actually makes you feel like you're in the Starcraft universe.

Being a fan of RTS's other than SC and never really played the original SC that much, I had to turn down the difficulty to normal in order to be able to complete some of the achievements. I'm hoping the campaign will prepare me enough for playing the Terrans during MP.

BTW completely worth $60, coming from a person who isn't a SC fanatic.

It doesn't freeze on my rig, but it isn't smooth. I get occasional mouse lag. It also feels laggy while typing and not even in game. My cpu is the E6600, I know this baby is outdated, but the cpu usage is normal while gaming, I would say under 30&#37;. I also have the gtx 260.

The beta was butter smooth, so I don't know if this is bnet related or my PC.

Does anyone know if the USB Starcraft game is tied to the CE CD key? Like if you register the CE key to your account, does the original Starcraft show up in your account? Because I already have SC1 registered to my account and would hate to throw away an extra copy of SC1.

Blizzard completely mucked up multiplayer IMO, but single player seems alright.

Overall I'm slightly disappointed.
