+1 I have an 8800GTS 320 and it runs fine but I think it depends on the rest of your system as well. I'm also running a Phenom 9950 quad core

Yea should be fine. I'm currently running it on a C2Duo 2.0Ghz, 1gig of ram, with an ati x1300 integrated laptop graphics. it chugs in the meus at times but everything else is perfect

So the bad guy at the end of those missions you do for Zeratul is a Xel naga or some Hybrid? Were the Hybrids created by Zel Naga or not (because in SC1 Duran was creating them in some lab)? Zeratul hints at it a few times. Also now that Kerrigan is not the Queen of blades anymore, and that hybrid/ Xel naga said 'the queen of blades was the only one who could stop us' I wonder how that will work out.

It seems kind of not reasonable that random 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4 players get matched against non-random teams.

Also, anyone else noticed that the new FFA maps - or maybe rather, the way FFA works with them - are terrible? There are these 6- and 8-player maps but only four players are put in each game, and what's more, spawns are random. For a fresh example of what goes wrong with that, I played a game where three terrans spawned right next to each other, while a zerg spawned all alone on the other side of the map with ~5 almost completely safe bases to expand to. No points for guessing who won that match. At the very least the game should distribute the spawns evenly, but I'd prefer to see more players to a FFA on a large map.

Top to bottom is:

Diamond
Platinum
Gold
Silver
Bronze

In the beta they didn't have diamond, platinum was the top, and they had copper at the bottom. Either naming scheme they use, it is still 5 levels. There are alot of terrible players in the game now, much moreso than during the beta. Not surprising. That means you don't have to be as good to be in the higher ladders since so many crappy players are populating the lower levels.

Also whats with those Protos and Zerg Vials in a Lab. Last time I checked the zerg one said something about 'it tried to escape' and Protos one said something about 'it's powering the ship' is that as far as it goes? Do they do anything?

Well technically speaking, those crashes all happen in Campaign mode due to all the xtra scripting and the 3d models etc. Multiplayer it works fine, and new computer arrives today so it's all good.


Also I have stumbled upon a new/alternate starting strategy as Terran that seems to work exceptionally well against toss/zerg, not too effective vs Terran. It involves building a barracks + factory or 2 rax at the bottom of the ramp into your base. It still creates a "wall" where enemy units can't get by, and they have massive hp. Another advantage to this is that your marines/marauders can defend from the ramp very easily. It also makes it so the enemy can't come up the ramp, and if they can't come up they can't get vision on the higher level of your base and therefore can't target your tanks without bringing over a flyer. which is easily countered by a turret.

I used this in a 1v1 vs a zerg that did 6pool and I only had 1 marine when he rushed with 6 lings, but the second rax was building and blocked the ramp so my marine just killed them all safely.

I didn't come up with the strat, I actually found it by watching a tourny match between Idra and Silver where Silver used this strat and dominated Idra in about 12min.

How terrible are they? I used to be a decent player some years ago but now I suck. Haven't really developed a strategy, I send some marines or reapers early but if my opponent defends himself from them I really struggle to build more powerful units and attacks, not good at defending myself well either and I use the mouse a lot cause I forgot nearly all keyboard shortcuts, lol.

Really? well I have faced 0 other players who have done that strat. Planetary fortresses are epic. It's like having a siege tank on top of your cc.

you see it a lot in higher end videos, people will build it there at the start to prevent the rush and then move it later in the game

The bad guy at the end is a hybrid. At the end of the campaign it is not revealed who is creating the hybrids. One of the voiceover effects makes it seem like it's the cultist protoss. Also, I was left with the impression that Kerrigan is still the 'Queen of Blades' in terms of her power and whatnot, she's just mentally human/herself again and not corrupted by the dead Overmind
