....okay, he's not dead. Perhaps he wished he was after doing a few cameos in this schlock. After suffering the two...three....how many? part premiere on Amazon Prime, I can't go on. I guess SG: Atlantis was truly jumping the shark, they should have let the series die before the hamfisted recasting of Dr. Weir

Took me awhile to warm up to Atlantis, but I did like it in the end.

Universe...had such potential. I was so mad when they ended on a cliff hanger. It was so dark and made space seem so scary.

Universe started getting good at the end. It just took a long time to get there though. Too long to keep enough Fans around to continue with it.

Atlantis, OTOH, was great from the start. Like SG1, but with a little more futuristic feel to it and a whole different Galaxy with a unique set of Villains. Otherwise it worked pretty much like SG1, unlike Universe that was more like BSG, being stuck in a Ship and dealing with Interpersonal interactions most of the time.

I was one of the ones who liked Universe. I'd say there's no reason to even start watching it now though. All it'll do is leave you feeling frustrated. I highly recommend all the other stargate series though.

Agree with slithery, Universe was really good but it did take a few episodes to get into it. Then they just cancelled it. If you really like stargate like I do you'll watch it, but if it's 'meh' to you, don't bother with Universe.

You know whats kills me about you nerds. You begged for a reboot begged for one. And then when you got one you didn't give it a chance.

See I didn't get into Atlantis right away. It took me a season or two IIRC. I was just so attached to the SG-1 team that these "new" guys got on my nerves, especially the female leader or w/e. In the end I did like it though.

I got all the SG-1's for like 20 bucks in Iraq, never had seen it except the movie. Blew through all the seasons in like a month; I never caught any Stargate shows as fresh, so...I would like them to continue with Universe though.

Universe even had Wesley Crusher 2.0, what more could you want? /sarcasm

It had its moments, but for me not enough of them.

SG-1 on the other hand was great, once you made it past a few terrible episodes in season 1. Carter vs. The Planet of Male Chauvinist Pigs. gah.

SG-1 didn't have a planned-out story arc like Babylon 5, but it did have multi-season continuity -- people, races, devices from season X popped up again in season Y and Z, they didn't just ignore all the alien tech they found, or forget about every planet they visited as soon as they left.

I just browsed through RDA's IMDB page...I didn't see anything of real quality listed there. Why should doing one more turkey of a show bother him any worse than anything else he's done in his career?

It is no cliffhanger...they are just still drifting.

I didn't know that they made any Stargate after Wyatt Earp and James Spader killed all those space flying Egyptian robots.

:hmm:

I mean, that was rather entertaining at the time...but why bother to keep going?

Ugh. Universe only got WORSE as it went along... like when that woman serving as a doctor in the absence of training or tools just WILDLY suggests that this person having strange issues might be turning into an alien AND THEY ALL JUST BELIEVE IT and act accordingly. By the very next episode they are already talking about what to do with her as she transforms and her allegiances may change. Yep! Wild, off-the-wall, ridiculous speculation CONFIRMED! The writers conveyed what was going on to the viewers as a character's WILD GUESS and never felt the need to establish it before even the characters are expected to just run with it.

So sloppy. The love triangles are even worse. I didn't sign up for this crap!

Because the portals instantly connect them to thousands of other planets and potential adventures?
