on Steam for a grand 15% discount which doesn't seem that much but the price is cheap - under $22.

Curious if anyone plays this and any feedback? SpaceSimCentral has a review for it and seemed okish - probably mediocre but that seems to be the trend. The forums are a mixed bag but again that seems pretty normal these days as well.

I need something to replace my EVE fix and I just can't get into X3 no matter what I try. And this game looks like it could play ok on an laptop. Any fellow space junkies got advice for this one?

Hello everyone!

I’m Nexus from LGM studios, a small indie development team from Croatia working on Starpoint Gemini II (SPG2). Our game is currently in alpha on Steam Early access.

We are blessed with a great community that support us with valuable feedback and development choices. While we develop the game we try to listen as much as possible and implement many things suggested by the players. But, although the community is great, we’re still lacking exposure on the web.

Considering we’re on a tight marketing budget (compared to bigger titles) we try to reach out to space enthusiasts on the forums. This way we try to get the word out. I hope you don’t mind!

So, Starpoint Gemini II is an action space-sim combined with diverse RPG elements. Control various space ships, ranging from small and agile gunships to lumbering, but deadly carriers. Explore, trade, research and fight in a star system no longer hindered by loading points. The entire Gemini star system is one giant area thanks to the implemented streaming technology. Gain experience and upgrade your skills to change the tide of even the fiercest space battles.

Feel free to visit our Steam page or official website/forum for more information. Our community will welcome you with open arms
. Also, I’ll try to answer any question you guys have over here.

I salute you Sir or Madame for not trying to hide the fact that you work there and post endless comments about how fabulous the game is going to be.

How complete is the game in its current early access state? Early access means a lot of things, I have seen games with well "no game" at all and ones which are really running from a highly playable game but still evolving.

I will need to take a look. I do agree about the early access. A lot of games are a little too early on the early access, but many are also pretty polished. For a smaller budget game, I have found that a lot of times they are responsive/accepting of player feedback (I mean really, that is what open access is gaining for the studio, that and play testing as well as some operating cash), which can help make a much better game.

*Steps out of Lurker Mode*

I've had this game for awhile. It's pretty...but so far..throws you in. No questing system that leads you around for a little bit.

I can't get into it so far. I'm pretty desperate for Freelancer-esq game too.

Tried it after this thread, mouse control is not working to well for me, and currently don't have a Joystick for my PC. Anybody know if there are some tweaks a guy can make to get the Mouse working better?

Hi Clok1966! There are various ways how you can control your ship and use your mouse.

Hit tab and when the view of yourship is slightly behind and hold down the left mouse button and the ship will follow your cursor.

You can also press V to go into turrent view - this allows you to see the area around your ship and blast away enemies from your side or back.

Or I might also suggest pressing the "Space" button. It links camera/ship movement to mouse, depending on whether you're in turret view or standard camera (default is space anyhow). In the options menu, this is called Mouse flight/cursor. While it's turned off, you can left-click and hold + move the mouse to get the same effect. The best way is to try it out .
