if the US had good *cheap* beer like in Prague/Czech Rep., we'd be up on that list too. unfortunately the US has a crap general beer culture... though our *good* beer culture is growing.

Clearly, you've never been to the Czech Republic. The standard alcohol content you get at a bar is 8%, and goes up to 12% (This is beer, mind you).

This is also were Budweiser comes from. (Not that rice swill that most of you are familiar with, but real Budweiser, a real lager that is made like a real lager should be made). The asshat Busch clan stole the name well after Budweiser was an established and respected brand (Which is why it is known as Bud anywhere outside the US, and Budweiser is sold over here as "Czechovar.")

Miller seems to Consider Miller Lite is a Pilsner...WTF??? Try Urquel, then get back to me.

Anyhoo, I'm sure these numbers are tweaked by the fact that no one in their right mind (German and Dutch beer drinkers especially) would consider our Budweisers and Millers, et al as real beer products. Thus...those numbers are probably not included

The closest example we have is Sam Adams. I don't drink it that much, but they do make some damn good beers, and are in no way a microbrew at this point.

We do have a lot of solid Microbreweries out there...and getting more popular by the year.
But yes...Euros will always consider us the land of Budweiser. And thus, we have no taste.
