You say just like the iPod Touch isn't a good device. My nieces Mustang is JUST a v6 Mustang with a v8 in it. This is a bigger screen iPod Touch. I use my Touch for tons of shit, probably 10-20 times a day. It's by far my most used gadget. This is going to be pure awesome sauce. Bigger screen, faster processor, and will have OS 4 when it comes out. I don't see how this device could have been any better. They don't need to improve the iPhone IMHO, so making a version on steroids makes perfect sense.

no, ilove the itouch. This is not worth the hype. My biggest complaint about the itouch was how i kept hitting the wrong keys. I mean, I guess they alleviated that problem.

Oh, look, an FPS that's even more unpleasant to play than on the iPhone!

What the hell? It's just a big iPod touch. I wish you could make phone calls on it I would do some serious LOLing if I saw someone walking around with one of those up to their ear.

I don't really see the appeal to this unless it becomes acceptable for men to carry purses to hold the damn thing.

No 3g, Wifi only, 9.7 in, no kickstand. Runs iPhone games.

Doesn't look like it has any capacity upgrade slots either, and it seems to be a weird nonstandard resolution, and has no TV type output.

So no good video viewing for widescreen content, no ability to hook it up to your TV for media viewing.

And a fucking HUGE dead area around the screen making it pretty damned big.

Honestly, if this thing had run OSX and been able to run iphone games in a sandbox, then I would have been interested, but I have no use for ANOTHER closed ipod like device -- my iPhone already runs iPhone apps.

Also, no resistive touch screen means no stylus. Useless to artists or for note taking. MS's dual screen prototype from a few months back was much more impressive.

I heard Steve Jobs actually died in a fiery auto wreck 15 years ago. What passes for Steve Jobs now is actually the iSteve, a prototype android with experimental psychic brainwashing abilities that was developed for the government by the Woz during the cold war.

I'm still not convinced the world needed a device somewhere between an iPod Touch and a MacBook that won't work as well as either of those products in their respective niches (too big to replace a Touch and not enough to replace a full-on laptop).

All this has going for it is the show-off factor, which means it'll probably sell by the boatload.

One of the negatives they put for netbooks is "PC Software".

Distorted indeed.

Agreed. The biggest challenge today was not selling the device, but selling the need for the spot between the smartphone and laptop. I haven't been convinced (yet).

If this thing is a success, Apple could sell salt water to a sailor. Waiting on the price, but so far not impressed at all.

Can anyone explain to me how you could possibly type on this without using the two index finger approach? It isn't set up at an angle, and there is no where for your palms to rest.

Sounds like some multi-touch multi-fail.
