I also have both Maxells and Imation DVD-R's same DVD Burner DVR105 Ive only used one one of each both brands burned GREAT for me! Both were DVD to DVD copys using Instant copy 7. I didnt read but what firmware is he using? Im using the 1.0 I think it is I never went to 1.21 or which ever was the new firmware if it matters.

$9.72 at OD in Richmond, VA (behind Borders). Apparantly no limit, either, because when I asked how many I could get, the woman working the counter just shrugged and smiled (yes, she spoke english). Out the door with four, under $20. Sweet.

Or just pricematch with Omax or staples. I got a couple from Omax after my local Odepot ran out.

I just came from there (without knowing about this thread)....just as I was leaving I saw a bin of CDs with a 9.99 tag on it. Sure enough its 2 50 paks for 9.99. They were out of imation so I saw the spin-x ones rated at 32x.....but then I saw the OD brand CDs (700MB), which are rated at 48X, in the same bin so I picked them up instead for 9.99.

Anyone have experience with OD brand CDs?

IMO, Deal of the year. I was shocked to find them in stock on Monday in NW Austin. Snagged 8 total (2 from 1 OD, 6 from another OD), and it seemed they had plenty left over. This will last me for about a month since I go through CD's like sweet candy

Imations suck though. I recently bought a 50 back from BB with the $20.00 rebate. I got the rebate with 2 weeks, but about 25% of the discs just are not "balanced" or something, and just make rumbling noises in my 24x burner (the ones I bought are supposed to be up to 48x). It's a real waste of time when it happens at the last 5% of the burn.

LOL, it's a nice deal. But I got 4 x 50 CDR for free on Christmas deal. I think that's enough. I don't burn that many CDs but now since I just bought my DVD burner, hmmm I wish they have this kinda deal with DVD-R or even better DVD+R.

Thanks for the heads-up. I forgot to get a newspaper this weekend. I just picked up 2 from my local store. They only had three packs left on the shelf, and the girl at the counter said she didn't know what they were going to do when they ran out. Hopefully they'll sub something other than the Spin-X.
