It's light fun. It is not deep at all.

I enjoy the dog-fighting ships and the blasting of people, but I'm also not going to be playing it for hours and hours in a given sitting. I just don't have that kind of time for gaming...

Is it worth the money to me? Definitely. I'm going to get enough hours of entertainment from it that it will be worth the price. Am I going to get the expansions? No idea. I'll have to wait and see what they're really bringing to the game with them.

Played for a few hours this weekend (Xbox one). I had lot of fun and the graphics are superb, but here are my complaints:

1) Wish it allowed you to spawn on anyone in your party...or at least have the 5 person squad setup from BF4. That makes it a lot more fun when playing with a group.

2) Wish you could setup several classes like in BF4 with different load outs for different purposes.

3) Wish there were more vehicles that have more than one player controls. Like a small blaster on the ATST, etc.

The gist of it is that my group of friends (we play weekly) played more individually instead of as a team because the game seems to focus on you (and maybe one buddy) instead of a party. I have a feeling that will be its biggest downfall for us.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed the space fighter battles. Very simplistic, but was affectingly fun. Wish they would create a new Xwing game with these level graphics.

Finally got my game yesterday after I ordered it a coupla weeks ago using a gamestop gift card I received over a year ago. I was expecting a disc in the package but only received a box with a code in it. Big let down. Anyway, I had to download 25gb but it only took 30 mins or so. Kicked everything up to near max and it looks and plays great. I dont think I will really get into the online aspect too deep. I will probably just play it for the visuals and cuz its STAR WARS! Anyway. Looks real nice.

Anyone having an issue turning in soldier first person view? If I turn too fast then the soldier doesn't turn. If I go slow then there's no issue. Wondering if it's the game or my mouse.

There are sets of "missions" you can play solo.

This is no solo campaign, but there is solo game play.

It's just "wave after wave" of guys coming at you and you defending spots.

Mindless fun - I'm enjoying it.

This has been very tempting for a while but a few questions first:
-Is it good beyond scratching the Star Wars itch, does it have lasting appeal?
-Does the game have the new securom aka denuvo?
-Is it ultimately worth the $?

I play BF4 once in a while but I'm not sure how to feel about a cut down version of a full priced Star Wars sequel that already borrows from BF4. Finally, any deals to make me join the dark side?

It does run pretty damn well for how great it looks. It's usually around 45+ fps for me with the old ass system in my sig.

My 660ti pumps out 40-60fps @ 1080p on Ultra. Looks amazing, just wish the game play was more Battlefield like and less COD like.

Played Jakku content. I feel like the map designer had a lot of fun using destroyed ships and vehicles. Fun stuff.

No amount of escape maneuvers or maxing out my throttle and hitting the booster while doing a loop de loop or other crazy shit ever seems to make much difference. The best strategy I've found thus far is to simply do nothing but farm power ups until the Falcon unlocks and spend the rest of the match simply not giving a fuck.

Well if the flight physics carry over at all from Battlefield 3/4 MAX speed is not always the best during a dogfight.

You want to have the tightest turning radius as possible while dogfighting if you are trying to lose someone on your tail. I've found that pulling back on the throttle between 1/2 and 2/3 lets you turn a bit tighter, I'm sure there's a specific sweet spot that gets you the optimal turning radius.

I would try playing with the throttle a bit to see if it helps you get away from the enemy while looping/turning to evade.

It also helps mess with the enemy if you change speeds while in their sights, easy to over/under shoot the lock if your target is accelerating.

Thank you, it is just as I feared.

I am frustrated how flawlessly EA's plan worked. Spend money on exclusive rights to the possibly most appealing franchise with a huge consumer base, gain traction via anticipation for the upcoming movie, spend minimal resources internally via DICE/Frostbite to create 2 DLC's. Sell the first DLC at full game price then sell the other DLC at nearly full price again. It's futile, my vote with the wallet is irrelevant to EA and the number of people making a stand will never grow enough to concern EA...

Use the '~' key to open the console, then type:

PerfOverlay.DrawFps true

Note that you can use the 'tab' key to complete the strings in the console to make it faster to type them.

If you wanted to buy the 'retail' version and wait for it to be shipped you could have bought it for $50 on Amazon.
