With a game like this, if you wait until it hits the bargain bin, all you'll get is empty servers and nothing to do. Remember what happened with Titanfall? If this game is a runaway success, there will be no reason to reduce the price, and if it's a commercial flop, no one will be online playing it anyway.

Beta for me is just going to give me a chance to see if i enjoy it enough to warrant the price tag.Waiting for a GameTime promotion before i buy it.

My experience with BF4 beta was much better then when i played it on actual release date so that's the reason i will wait for a GameTime promotion.

Yeah, but that was $5 or $10 off; that's hardly "bargain bin." To me, bargain bin denotes something that's less than $20, so a 2/3 reduction in price for a modern triple-A game. You're just not going to see that with Battlefront in the first few weeks, and if it does eventually get to that point, it's likely because the game flopped (or it's been out for over a year).

I'm pretty confident I'll hate it however I give credit to EA for essentially offering a limited time demo. More companies need to do this.

I watched GameSpot's 'report' on the demo. What they said about it (well, at least, about what's available in the demo, especially the battle on Hoth) was mostly negatives in my book (even in theirs). I was fully expecting it, however, it's nothing surprising. I'll probably give the demo a try to experience it for myself, but I'm going in with barely-existent expectations.

My son has it running on a Pentium G3220 and a 7790 all on low-details.
He's playing the single player 'assault' mode and it's looking pretty good.

The game is fun initially, but has no staying power from what I saw, as well the vehicles are absolutely awful.

If you are expecting a BF4 experience set in Star Wars, you're not going to find it in this game. It's a much shallower game than BF is. 20v20, no dedicated servers, very simple two choice loadouts and awful vehicles. The gunplay is good and I liked the different characteristics of the weapons. The guns handle like BF4 which is not surprising as it's the same engine.

It's a game I think most will play for a week and shelve. I don't see it having the sort of extended multiplayer gameplay you can get out of BF.

The Alpha for BF4 was horrible, by the time beta rolled around it was a very different game. Still had bugs obviously, but you cannot say the alpha represents the final product.

From what I have seen so far, if you are looking for and updated Battlefront 2(which I am) you are going to like it. If your big into Battlefield 3/4 your going to be disappointed. I played Battlefront 1 and 2 for a very long time, might have stepped away for a few weeks to play but always came back. My son had Battlefront 2 up and running just a few weeks ago and I wanted to see about installing it again.

This is definitely going to appeal to a wider audience, and I think they'll appreciate it much more than if it turned out to be a BF clone.

Someone please give an update on how squad-based matchmaking works in the game. PLEASE. Especially given the skill-based matchmaking crap they're talking about having in there.

This is the biggest thing given the lack of a server browser that has me NOT buying the game right now. If I have no way to pick a server and have 5-10 of my friends join me, there's no way I'm buying this game.
