Thirty days until Trump delivers his first State of the Union speech in front of Congress.

Thoughts? Predictions? Good ideas for a drinking game? Of course, a lot can happen between now and then... Who knows what revelations in the Russia investigation are forthcoming, or what Kim Jong Un might do.

One things for sure... This won't be a typical SOTU speech, and I expect TV ratings will be through the roof (just like Donnie likes it.)

My predictions:
- Trump will go off script/off teleprompter at least once to deliver a rambling rant about something
- Paul Ryan fails to keep a straight face.
- At least one Democratic member of Congress refuses to attend... And at least one other will break decorum during the speech (I.e. "You lie!!!")
- All Democrats remain seated at all times with zero applause.
- Trump will lie about something stupid in order to inflate his ego.
- Trump will launch a petty attack on Obama and/or Hillary Clinton.

Guaranteed that it'll go off the rails, that Dems will refuse to stand or applaud (as any decent human being would do) and that Trump will use the speech for personal grudges. And of course, there will be so many lies that fact-checkers will have to work all night pointing out everything that was false.

I want to see honesty.

Imagine this: Trump comes out, grabs the mic, says "Fuck the Union! Things are great for me!" drops the mic and stalks out. His advisors might be able to talk him out of doing it, but you know deep down inside that's exactly what he wants to do.

He honestly thinks he is the best thing to ever happen to this country.

My prediction is that it will be pure, unadulterated insanity that will be painful to watch.

My prediction is that it's going to be one huge self congratulatory pat on the back. I also think he'll stick to the script.

I think he'll lay out his achievements over the past year, his winning economy, his excellent judicial nominees, tax reform, deregulation, his cutting of government waste, the defeat of ISIS, withdrawal from the Paris Climate Treaty and his recognition of Jerusalem and the cuts of the United Nations. Then proceed to what he hopes to achieve in 2018 in a true bipartisan manner with the help of Democrats and Independents to thunderous applause! Heh.

OK that's even too much for me, but he'll stay on script, mention his successes, thank the people that made it possible, support 1st responders, the military and police and make speaking to the American public the focus of his State of the Union speech. It's a State of the Union speech, whoopee-damn-do

True, he won't have the energy of the base to help inflame his fiery rambling rhetoric, but I still think he'll feel slighted when he sees half the Congress sitting and twiddling their thumbs... he'll take it as some grand affront and will then proceed to blame the Democrats for all of his failure to lead.

Also, I wouldn't rule out an attack on federal law enforcement...so much for championing the rule of law.

This. He will not go off prompter. He's already known to do this in these formal situations. What he will do is easily predicted by what he's done in the past.

The will give a relatively normal speech (by his standards) and not say anything particularly insane. The media will then fall all over themselves to praise him for acting like something approaching a rational adult.

Sometimes the rule of law is abused. Just look at the cases where police officers don't answer for their crimes and you can see it.

THe only thing for sure is that it will be unintelligible.

2017 might go down as the dumbest year in history....and we already had about 9 or more centuries of anti-knowledge with the dark ages, so there is that.

Fair amount of competition, but I believe Trump and his ilk are well up to the task.

Gonna see some desperate fluff from a man who knows Congressional investigations are coming and Devin Nunes won't be able to obstruct justice much longer.

I predict he'll have Sheri Dillon come out and talk about how he is not being investigated and he has divested himself of all of his business interests and he is not under investigation and he is doing a good job and Hillary is being investigated and look at all of these folders I have here proving he is not still running his businesses and his sons are the best and there was no collusion at all no collusion and he is not under investigation for collusion because look at all these folders and there will be a favorable outcome of the investigation and the tax plan is good and the wall is coming along jobs are great and the economy, look there is no collusion happening so there is no investigation.

Yeah. When he goes off prompter he just starts rambling with lots of unfinished sentences and random words, when he stays on prompter he sounds like he can read the English words but doesn't know what they mean in a sentence.
