Cost of housing is factored into real wages, which are higher than ever.

When was the economy good? For like the sixth time. This should be very, very easy for you to answer.
You can ask a million times if you want and I'll tell you to fuck off while you keep pretending housing isn't a nightmare for working class people right now.

Who said you have to think we live in a Utopia to be able to recognize that capitalism has run amuck, that economic benefits have not kept up to the costs of living OR EVEN CLOSe, and it's ok to recognize that when you are running for office. I think Biden gets it actually, and in fact I think quite a few Dem pols get it - but I think @fskimospy and @ivwshane are fucking morons. I know at least one is a limousine liberal cozied up in what is probably their renovated brownstone in like Park Slope. Not sure what the other's excuses are. Either way, they are dipshits. This is the subject at hand. The dipshittery of these fucking out of touch mofos.
You have become the most tiresome poster on these boards.

I’m not a liberal so you can continue to fuck yourself until you are capable of addressing posts without resorting to straw man arguments. If you think my posts implied something then ask, don’t assume (which is exactly why I asked Steve my question).

You're not a liberal? Well there goes your one redeeming quality.

So to be clear you think it would be better if we were all poorer but more equal?
Know what fun thing happens when we're poorer but more equal? You can buy blueberries for less than $7/6oz from fucking Tops, because if you charge that much nobody will ever buy it.

Ok great. So you are unable to tell me any time in history the economy was better than now.

Thanks for agreeing with me.

Been here for 5yr, been in my career for 20, when exactly is that shit supposed to pick up? Mind you I'm near the top of the income bracket for my age, I'm doing well. My point is, everything is too fucking expensive. Legit, right now, I couldn't afford another car. I couldn't afford a big bill (AC dies, roof replacement, bullshit like that). I'm not bad with money, we don't go on trips, we buy needs, very few wants, and we're still crunched, at a 6 figure income.

I'm super stoked that the lower income brackets are doing better, I really am. Not everyone is, and that's not easy to address because Congress can't dictate non-min wage incomes or lower costs of consumer goods (realistically).
I'm sorry you are going through that.

But this is also why Congress needn't be pushing more "demand-based" policies, like shoving more money in people's pockets without fixing supply issues. We actually need supply to bring down people's costs. Allow more homes to be built where people want to live - this process has worked (ie, real rents have decreased over the last year in Austin), support policies that allow more people to live car-free or car-light, so they can drop some of the biggest routine expenses in their life.

Is anyone watching the response? She sounds like she is about to cry. Never seen her before. Is that an affect?

She’s telling the story about the murdered college student but fails to mention Uvalde. Were those school kids lives less valuable?

What supply issue?

I almost never respond to you because you’re mentally ill but in this case you can get royally fucked.

I’m a ‘limousine liberal’? I grew up in a poor house where my abusive dad left when I was 13, I dropped out of high school after almost killing myself and joined the Navy to escape my shitty home town. Shortly after I got out of the Navy I came within an inch of dying of cancer and lost my life savings fighting it. Now I have a decent paying job and a good life and every dollar I have I earned. Not one dollar of inheritance.

So I mean this genuinely - fuck you. Grow up.

JFC that would be amazing. Cars are an anchor around so many peoples' necks but they're virtually necessary for the right to work in the US unless it's something you can do remotely.

I don't disagree. We can handle day-to-day (as most people can I imagine, by restricting wants in favor of needs) but sometimes shit happens, and you get a dick-slapping $1600 bill for some septic repair, or a $1k vehicle repair, or another thing, or another thing, on and on.

Christ my sister-in-law just forked over $9k they couldn't really afford for a vet bill. I guess the alternative is to just kill your pet but it's okey dokey because the economy is roaring right?

ok boomer

He is a total elitist prick. We all know that real wages have stagnated, wealth inequality has gotten worse, and the basic costs of living have exploded - we can do a little digging and find out muiltiple times where the economy was much better for the middle class, where overall things were more affordable than right now. You made your point clear regardless.

I respect the Dems, including Biden, who realize the situation is pretty fucked, but are trying to do the right thing to make it better. The Republicans have just stood in the way. If Biden didn't' get it I would not respect him, but I do respect him. I think Biden is way more in touch with reality than certain folks here. I don't respect the way fucking out of touch Dems at all. I mean I respect they aren't Republicans, and that goes a long way. But still, they are elitist pricks deep down.

I'm sure they are, that hasn't brought prices down. I guess everyone in the nation should job hop right now to get in on that increased income right?
So you want to live in a deflationary economy, like we had in the Great Depression and in 2009? Yeah, those were great times.
