For eastern Kentucky/West Virginia coal miners out of work, legalize pot and put them into the pot growing business. It's already KY's biggest cash crop. If it was a legal industry there's jobs and money to be had there.

Even moreso, you'd making money by selling and taxing it and you'd be saving money by not fighting it, not prosecuting and not jailing offenders. You win on both fronts. And it's not like the war on drugs is succeeding anyway.

But it TAKES money from the hands of those feeding congress. Even if the new law makes more money for more people overall, if those people aren't paid up with the right politicians it means nothing. These laws could cause the prison industry that make a business model off of cracking down on small drug offenses a ton of money. They and others that benefit from pot bans won't accept this laying down.

While it's possible, is there real indication that the GOP actually would go after states legalizing MJ? Enforcement will be hard without cooperation from local PD. Prosecution will be difficult also. Well before legalization, many municipalities in CO gave up on trying to prosecute weed cases because they weren't able to field juries that cared to convict.

There are tons of homebrewers out there, but there's still room for the craft beer market as well as the macrobrew market.

There's plenty of room for everyone! And unlike stale beer which has to get tossed, stale marijuana can be turned into hash or plenty of other awesome shit.

From what I've been reading, the legalization that's taken place already has caused an uptick in the heroin market.

That had absolutely nothing to do with the clampdown on Oxycontin at around the same time, it was all that evil weeds fault!
