They had a Jalapeno Crunch burger last summer when I was back in southern MO, along with parmesan fries for $4.99. Freaking delicious, hope it's there again this summer if I get to return.

Tasty. Everything I've tried has been pretty good. Not the greatest, but good. With coupons it's very reasonable. They have a Philly Cheese Steak burger that I really like.
They even have decent pancakes.

Years ago we had a chain called GD Ritzys. Similar food, but full on ice cream selection. There are a few still around, but none here. They were better.

I've had really good steak and shake, and really bad steak and shake. It's one of the few chains I've been to that seem to have a really odd variation in quality. I know where the good one is by me though, so I'm happy.

Don't really care for their fries much though. Even thinner than McD's... meh

The quality of the store depends almost entirely on the quality of the franchisee. The corporate owned stores are usually pretty decent.

Any true devotee knows the ones to avoid in their area.

They are everywhere here (I have at least 3-4 within 20 minutes of me), and they are always consistently average in the burger department. Not bad, but a step and a half up from McDonald's really.

Now their shakes are superb. Thoroughly recommend them. But their burgers? Please.

SF bay area. Look at the steak and shake locations link above and you'll see none near me. I looked up chickafill and there's apparently one 16 miles from me. It's all suburbs out there, not a place I have any reason to go visit.

There's still some in Indiana and always seemed similar to Steak N Shake and good stuff!

We have a local Steak N Shake and it's always pretty good food for this type. Yes the shakes are pretty amazing. It's open 24 hours and they serve breakfast as well.

They're food is meh, but I love their milkshakes. As good as Chick-Fil-A, but come in more better flavors.

I do like Chik-Fil-A's cookies and cream shake. They have the best quality fast food I've experienced, and the best service as well. I'd go gay and gay marry them for free lifetime food, but I understand they're not in favor of that sort of thing.
