I have 195 games on steam. Of those, more than half I have NEVER played. Of the remaining half, only about 35 of them I have played in the last 6 months, and of those 35 I've spent less than 30 minutes on 31 of them. 5 games I have played more than 30 minutes total, and of those 5 the one I play most- DOTA2- was free.

Admittedly, many of those 195 games are from humble bundles and the like, and have an effective cost of about $1-2. Still, it's a huge waste to pay for all these games and never play them.

I used to be a gamer, I feel like I have become a game collector. I buy games and never play them. WTF is wrong with me?

I've decided to quit buying computer games as my new years resolution. I'll allow myself 1 game purchase every 6 months, no more. Lets see if I can hold myself to this.

I have played less than half and beat less than a quarter. I generally focus on less than 3-4 SP games and beat them and then move onto more. I have a few MP that i play regularly online with friends while im focusing on the 3-4 singleplyer games as well.

I have 634 games in Steam between real games and DLC...haven't really played more than 100 I think, I hate this thread already :/

Started this Steam sale mostly limiting myself to games that are at least 66% off and >= $10...then halfway through it I lowered that to $7.50 at most, seriously thinking of getting Dark Souls with the Amazon if I can and calling it quits.

I did that and it can be rewarding. I only allow myself two purchases of big releases a year. Then, I can check out Half-price books, and can sometimes find good older games cheap. I limit myself to 10 of those a year.

I never buy anything new, i considered it splurging when i just bought skyrim and how long has it been out? lol.

i have 300 games in steam aprox

i started using steam last year xmas sale... i had 15 games...

I play all the big titles, although it might take me 6 months to start it. I do however tend to push forward the indie/bundle/ games for a long time, since i always have a big title to play

however i havent bought many of the games i have, i got them from a website...

from the 300 games...

That was going to be my outlook but its been more than a year since i paid full price for a game and couldnt bring myself to wait any longer i love the elder scrolls games so even at only half off i caved. I do kinda feel bad for spending so much even though i love the game lol.

Yeah, you have to splurge every once and a while. I did for X-Com, and that was well worth it.

Funny you mentioned xcom that was the other game i was debating about other than skyrim, i loved the older ones but this new one doesnt really look like the old ones and im unsure if i will like it or would only be buying it for the nostalgia of the series.

Not sure if this entirely accurate. On the hours played list, it shows some games with 0 hours, though I've played and beaten the games.

Those steam calculator things are never accurate for me because I do a fair bit of gaming on my laptop and other PC that are both in offline mode. So it shows a lot of games as never been played while I've spent a lot of time on them

I'm wondering to if you Delete Local Content, then reinstall, if it resets your Hours Played. I bet it does.

Steam profile says I have 886 games. If I had to guess, I've only touched a couple hundred of them.

Edit: Steam Analysis looks a lot more accurate. Library size is more in the ballpark of ~500.

It doesn't. The "Hours Played" number is recorded and permanently stored on Valve's servers, not on your computer. It will persist regardless of how many times you uninstall/re-install.

So It's not too bad, lots of the games not played are Half life franchise and Warhammer, which I played before steam.

I think the most depressing aspect of my Steam Stats is AAA titles I haven't booted.

Alan Wake, Just Cause 2, LA Noire, Civ V, Total War Shogun 2 = 0 hours.

But I think I've spent about 10 hours on Bloons 5 on my phone over vacation.... yay $0.99 !
