according to steam profile, im up to 576 games. In my library its showing 430, and in steamcalculator it says... nevermind i guess steam calc doesnt work anymore.
Anyways, Yes I've become a pretty hardcore game buying addict, but compared to total value of all my games, i really dont spend much.
I limit myself to only buying games at extremely reduced prices, and i buy almost every indie bundle that comes out. the most ill spend on a game is if i absolutely cant wait for something, ill wait maybe a month or so and then buy it (I got XCOM for like 20 bucks or something like that, im currently waiting to catch dishonored for ~20 bucks).
I think I've come to grips with the fact that I probably wont play ALL of these games, but I probably will play most, and I have spent 3-5 dollars on much worse things.
I also am trying to use steam as my entire game library - so by that I mean I have bought games in the past that I have played and beat for 360, but I now own in steam, and no longer for xbox because thats the place i want EVERYTHING to be.
Another reason I have so many is i own a mac and PC, so when i see a game i can play on both i jump on it to expand my mac library.
Lastly, I love video games, and I like to support them, so in a way, i think my donation is going to a good cause. If I were really to only buy games i was going to play the shit out of, and now pay full price, then devs would kind of get screwed, and maybe i wouldnt discover a gem i got on sale. (no idea when or why i bought Defense Grid - but its a pretty awesome game) I also love steam/pc gaming/valve/gabe/hate origin/etc so it makes it that much more worth it to me.
