according to steam profile, im up to 576 games. In my library its showing 430, and in steamcalculator it says... nevermind i guess steam calc doesnt work anymore.

Anyways, Yes I've become a pretty hardcore game buying addict, but compared to total value of all my games, i really dont spend much.

I limit myself to only buying games at extremely reduced prices, and i buy almost every indie bundle that comes out. the most ill spend on a game is if i absolutely cant wait for something, ill wait maybe a month or so and then buy it (I got XCOM for like 20 bucks or something like that, im currently waiting to catch dishonored for ~20 bucks).

I think I've come to grips with the fact that I probably wont play ALL of these games, but I probably will play most, and I have spent 3-5 dollars on much worse things.

I also am trying to use steam as my entire game library - so by that I mean I have bought games in the past that I have played and beat for 360, but I now own in steam, and no longer for xbox because thats the place i want EVERYTHING to be.

Another reason I have so many is i own a mac and PC, so when i see a game i can play on both i jump on it to expand my mac library.

Lastly, I love video games, and I like to support them, so in a way, i think my donation is going to a good cause. If I were really to only buy games i was going to play the shit out of, and now pay full price, then devs would kind of get screwed, and maybe i wouldnt discover a gem i got on sale. (no idea when or why i bought Defense Grid - but its a pretty awesome game) I also love steam/pc gaming/valve/gabe/hate origin/etc so it makes it that much more worth it to me.

The nice thing about the cheap deals is you get to sample the games like a buffet...

I have become a $5 gamer addict myself. Anything for around $5 and boom, sold!

And the Steam app on my phone has made that even easier no matter where I am... LOL

Just looking down my list, some of my favorite games of all time i got for super cheap:

Portal 2
deus ex HR
PvZ
Borderlands
Isaac
FTL

Deus ex really stands out. Honestly its the best all around game ive played in a long time, and will go down as one of my favorite games ever.

Funny thread...my best friend was bragging the other day how he beat me to 100 total games on Steam. I looked at his stats and he only has a few hours in each game where I have over 200 hours in some games. I would rather have a few great games (most games between $ 5 and $ 10) than have alot of cheap hardly played games. I'm so backlogged anyways and this past steam sale was just a re-hash of what they have had for the past year....I bought nothing.

Only 59 games for me on Steam. Though I did buy the 1C pack on gamersgate, that was 80 games. Of which I only plan on playing about 7-12.

I'm at the 300 mark too.
Since 2010 I mostly buy games on discount and rarely pay full price.

Last game I bought full price is Far Cry 3 and it is worth it.

Steam sales are cool for that, if you can wait a few months, most games are at 50% price and sometimes lower.

I'll give you bad rats

I've never heard of that game. <---goes to look up bad rats on Steam and contemplates purchasing for further analysis....

Not to get too OT here but since this is a steam thread..anyone know of any cute casual games?

Looking to get a family member some more games, she currently has: PvZ, Storm in a Teacup, Bumbledore, Puzzler World, Toki Tori, Critical Mass and all the Peggle Games.

How is the PC version of Eufloria? I've played the mobile version, but it runs really poorly on my SGS3, is it better on PC?

it's a kickass game, and it runs with no issues on my machine.

i got stuck on level 22 and took a break, and then BL2 came out. i'm sure I'll go back to it soon enough. something so mesmerizing about watching my little seedlings buzz about and conquer the crap out of other planets. hehehe.

I know the games never played stat is inaccurate. HL2 was listed as a game I've never played, but I've played it at least 5 times all from start to finish.

The real sign of a problem:

"Oh, thats a decent price, not sure when I'll play it though but can't pass up the deal."

*click*

<You already own this game>

*facepalm*

This happened to me twice this last sale.

happens to me all the time, usually with cheap indie games. Ill see something like avseq on sale for 80% off, and then see that i already have it.

Another thing I do that i really should stop is i buy some games i already have and love and keep them in my steam inventory. Ive been holding on to them as bait to try and get my friends to switch over to PC gaming. I think I may have purchased 4-5 extra versions of portal 2 so far.....

hahaha you could try gifting the games to them...if they DONT activate the gift you can reclaim them

maybe the look of an email saying "Nvidiaguy07 sent you a gift" with portal2 will make them fall into the trap

Luckily i still remember what games i have so i dont rebuy them

Obligatory

I don't know how many games I have, not too many. I think around 100. But when sale time comes around I start buying like mad. I've played only around 25% for more than an hour. It's like my wife shopping when she has coupons.

I have 70 Steam games and doubt I paid over 100$ for them. Most that I ever paid for a game was 14.99 and only once (Pripyat). For major games I usually wait for GOTY editions and only when on sale. I would never pay $50-60 for a new game full of bugs and needing patches. I try to play all games I get. Some like the Civilization games I hate in the first hour. I bought five of those games but they were like $5 for all.

Steam confessions of a WoW addict:

Games Owned: 135
Games Played: 18
Games Never Played: 117
Percentage Played: 13.33 %
Total Hours: 130.20

Top 5:
Bejeweled 3 -- 52.8
GRID -- 11.3
Crysis -- 10.9
Orcs Must Die -- 8.8
BFBC2 -- 8.7

Don't judge me!

This must've reset at some point. I've beaten HL2 twice in the past, and it only shows 2.1 hours. That's definitely not right.

Valve only started to track game usage a few years ago, so the stats only are accurate for maybe 2 or 3 years.

I've toned it down, but I'm still a Steam sale crack addict. I own like 250+ games and have only played maybe 60 of them. Part of it is that I like to support the humble bundle game sales whether or not I play the games in them, so 100+ are from those as I've purchased them all. However probably 100 of those are AAA games I've purchased for 66-75% off. I just can't help myself. My other excuse for not playing other games is that I'm also addicted to Rift and the expansion is out now. Just hit over 100 days logged into it over the past 16 months or so, and that's actual in game playing time, which averages out to 5 hours a day. Not too unbelievable, as I will play a minimum of 2 hours a day and raid 10-12 hours a week for sure, and there have been a few binges here and there when the family goes out of town.

Hi everyone,

My name is David and I'm a Steam addict.

Bought most of them last summer. Haven't played them all cause there are too many, 10 gigs per game for me is alot of bandwidth and some are console ports I already had on xbox that I never got around to beat again.

I feel like a loser. I thought, for sure, I'd be over 200...

General Information

Username: DefDC
Games Owned: 115
Games Played: 33
Games Never Played: 82
Percentage Played: 28.70 %
Total Hours: 9774.10 (I leave games on pause for days at a time... The 'letric company loves me, I'm sure...)

I've bought games from all major companies. I know I sunk a ton of time into BC2, which was on Origin. And other heavy timesinks...
