Ok, regardless of how I try to run Bioshock Remastered....I continuously get this error message
that states..........

Could there be something wrong here, that could possible lead to Doom not wanting to launch as well ?
I do in fact have SP1 installed.

I think you have an issue with your registry or Windows installation in general. This could be coupled with why your Doom won't run.

DirectX
Reinstall/Verify game cache

and whats that button do that says "Get more features with a new version of windows 7."? I dont think ive seen that before, although I havent used home premium much.

Seems like your windows is corrupted.
Time to restore from backup or do a clean install of the OS.

As much as I hate to even think it, your all probably right. Ugh, to download all those Steam games again.

Hmm? You do NOT have to download the steam games again.
You should have the OS on one partition, and then you can clean install it as many times as you want.
If you have the steam games on the same partition, I would make another partition, and then copy the steam games to them, and when you install the OS again, point steam to those games, and it will install everything for you again in no time.

Yeah this, i have changed OS's a half dozen times at least and i keep using the same steam directory which is on a separate drive. Even if your steam directory is on your OS drive just back it up to another drive, reinstall os and reinstall steam, then copy the backed up steam directory ontop of your freshly installed steam directory.

I remember when I first downloaded Bioshock Remastered...and the first time I ran it...ya know those 1 or 3 steps or whatever....well it asked me to install dx9...so I did...then it asked about some redistributable. And I did that as well. I thought I have read before, that those two things should be cancelled or it could do something to the game.

But even then, Doom....I may as well just get on with the inevitable. To eliminate any further error crap.

That was for a quick upgrade from Home Premium to Pro or Ultimate without having to re-install as all the bits are there but just not enabled.

This is not re-install as others have mentioned to fix the problem
