Amazon is also having a 'black friday' sale.

I had to google it to find out what the hell it was.

I'm guessing its the first of these? Or is it all about commemorating financial panics? Or Iranian shootings? Or Maldivian crack-downs?

Not clear why Amazon.co.uk is timing its sale in terms of 'thanksgiving' (whatever that is, I should google that also), but its all good!

how do you change the order of your wish list?

nvm, apparently you can't do it from the site, only within the steam client.

i hate how you can't open pages in another window on the client or that if you do click a game and then go back to the list, it always goes back to the first page even if you're on page 30

This one. The term is probably technically archaic but it stuck. It refers to businesses finally turning a profit on the year, leaving the red and entering the black which historically happened often on the friday shopping rush following Thanksgiving.

Transformers "If your referring to War For Cybertron" is an excellent game. I just got it a few days ago. Great Generation One theme and nice story.

Do yourself a favor, and pick it up.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about.

I will pick it up. ...when it goes on sale. It hasn't dropped $.01 in Steam since its release. It needs to go on sale.

I got Alpha Protocol for $15 off ebay and its not worth that even.

Conviction was pretty fun though, except my friend and I can't play MP co-op together. Sucks because that was the main reason we got it. Every time we try to play a game the FPS drops to like 2 for me and I can't play like that. Plays awesome by myself and in SP. I heard it has some kind of thing that lowers the experience based on the lowest PC which doesn't make sense to me.

Yeah, Alpha Protocol went on sale today. Picked it up for $8 and change (I live in WA, so I pay sales tax on Steam), hopefully it's at least worth that.

That sucks about Conviction co-op. I was planning on playing solo, so no worries with that.

Borderlands is a fun game, but I think it tends to cater to those who enjoy games like Diablo or MMOs (like WoW). If you enjoy playing games with friends, consider trying to get them to join you, as the game does have co-op play.

What's kind of amusing...

Borderlands is on sale for $10 and the 4-pack is still $60. The 6-pack is only $40 (which actually makes it a deal). The DLCs are not on sale and cost $10 each (or $30 for all four).

I already own Sam and Max, Borderlands and CS, so I don't see much else that's worthwhile in there. Deus Ex could be interesting, since I never played the original, but I'll admit that it can be hard to get into "old games" sometimes.

The Indie Energy Pack could be interesting. I already own Quantz out of it, but I've never heard of the other four. That'd only make it $1.25 a game... the cheap ass in me loves that deal .

I might have to get the Shank demo to see if it's worthwhile. It certainly looks like an interesting style, but I think I read that it's fairly short?

EDIT:

Looks like I need to add some games to a wishlist... can't beat the possibility of getting some games for free .

borderlands....ick

I could definitely see how Borderlands may not be for everyone, but it's not a bad game at all in that it delivers pretty much on what it promises. If you're looking for an FPS dungeon crawler with lots of trash loot and the occasional awesome drop, it will fit the bill nicely.

It's definitely worth $10. I'd go so far as to say it's worth the $40 it would cost you for the game + all the of the DLC right now on Steam.

According to Steam, I've put 86 hours into the game... I don't think I've ever got that much play time out of a non-MMO game before . But as I mentioned earlier, the game certainly is not for everyone.

EDIT:

Oh and about the whole putting Steam games in a separate directory. That makes me wonder... I could probably store all of my Steam games on my network and play them that way. Well, it'd work well for some of those games that I don't play heavily.

My wishlist:

1)Borderlands: Claptrap expansion
2)Dragonage: Ultimate Edition
3)Napoleon Total War
4)CoD: Black Ops
5)Modern Warfare 2
6)Witcher 2
7)Fallout 3: GoTY
8)Empire: Total War Gold Edition
9)RUSE

Already Bought:

1)Counterstrike Source - $5

I kept missing sales for this game all year. It's some kind of bad luck. Every time there was a sale I ended up missing it... Not this time!

*BOOM, HEADSHOT!*

Ohh, good call on The Witcher. I have...

1) Deathspank
2) Deathspank Thongs of Virtue
3) Call of Duty: Black Ops
4) Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition
5) Fallout: New Vegas

I'm trying to go for the most expensive games (that I'd like to play), but I couldn't think of much (hence Deathspank ). I'll add The Witcher 2 into mine.

EDIT:

I'm actually hoping to catch The Witcher (the first one) on sale again.

How's performance on Borderlands? I've got a high end dual core (E8400 @ 3.9Ghz) with a single, overclocked 4890.

You didn't list your resolution, but even without it, I doubt you'll have a problem. The game's based on the Unreal Engine 3, so it's certainly no Crysis .

Ah, of course. I'd prefer native 1980x1020 at 60 FPS at medium settings. But have no problems dropping down to 1650x1080.

Thanks.

Damn, doesn't work with XP. May be time to move to Win7.

Strange, junction points work just fine on Windows XP, even if deleting them using Windows Explore isn't "safe". If you're technically inclined you can just move the directories and set up the junction points manually. There's a few utilities that will let you create junction points on Windows XP.

I don't think I can afford the harddrive space. Too many sales have eaten into too much of my space. Too bad Steam doesn't allow you to install games on more than one harddrive
You can... unofficially.

Well you can copy the Steam folder to another drive with some of the games. You'll just have to keep track of which Steam to run to play which games.

You could also delete those hundreds of games you never play!
