Cities:Skylines Rocks!
Not sure if this helps or not but under your user name you should see badges. It's right above inventory and below content.Funny, I haven't even seen how to use the cards this time. Before, you clicked one in your inventory and there was a button for creating a badge.

Yah because who has time to check in on steam every 12 hours with computers and smartphones being so rare...
These Holiday Sale 2015 cards are treated differently for some reason. The "View badge progress" button is missing when you look at cards from your Steam Inventory, but you can still craft a badge from your "Badges" page, like balloonshark said.Funny, I haven't even seen how to use the cards this time. Before, you clicked one in your inventory and there was a button for creating a badge.

two thirds of my queue was filled with indie or early access crap, couldn't click through fast enough.
Every 8 hours, and I don't know about you, but I was visiting family and outside of sleeping, had very little time to myself. I decided to engage with the people I was visiting instead of religiously browsing an online store three times a day.
So, the publisher not discounting a game as much is the fault of Valve? Logic checks out. At least you'd have a legitimate reason for not liking this sale, but the format of the sale, which is the subject of my post, is irrelevant to the prices a publisher chooses.
You guys whining about the steam sale need to learn to shop around. There are better deals out there that aren't on Steam. Wingamestore had flash sales if that was your thing. kerbal space program went on sale for 55% off at that site. It was a constant 40% off on Steam. Amazon pricematched a lot of the Steam deals. If you had a chase freedom you could have purchased those titles for an extra 10% off. Green man gaming had some deals running with a 20% off code that was stackable. You could also get cashback via TCB/ebates/etc. There's were also deals on Nuuvem, GamersGate, etc.
You really just want to get spoon fed deals and you don't really want any competition. Stop being lazy. Do your research and shop around.
How about great prices for one of the three major sales per year? So many games didn't touch their lows, and it's quite obvious that the biggest reason for that is the lack of daily/flash/community deals. And what more do you want from a sale?
That's what's so bizarre to me. I got exactly what I wanted, at my leisure. I prefer that to being forced to someone else's schedule just because they say so. Former Steam sales weren't "fun," they were tedious. As a side note, my internet speed is fantastic. My family's, less so. Poor /s aside on your part.
That's fantastic. Guess what? That wasn't a title that had a sale price for the entire sale. That one did have a pseudo-flash sale. Kind of disproves your point. Oh, and it was only $8 at Origin for Black Friday, a fraction of its sale price at Steam. It's worth noting that FC4 saw its biggest Steam discount to date during this sale. I didn't bite because the season pass was still full price, but it played out exactly like I posted multiple times in this thread.
Manipulating? It seems like you're the one being manipulated here, as you're wholeheartedly enjoying paying more for video games.Honestly, this is just another example of gamers whining about anything and everything. The corporation isn't manipulating me enough, I'm not saving enough money on throwaway games, blah blah.
How is this the company trying to respect its customer? Your example doesn't fit at all. JCP charged people less, Steam is charging more. And they're not doing refunds because they're being respectful to the customer, they're doing it because the European Union forced them to.The Extra Credits episode that discusses the JC Penney's effect was on the money. As soon as a company tries to respect their customer, they revolt. This is ridiculous.
Again, more blowhard nonsense. At least try to make a point. Just spouting words because you can doesn't make them true.People wonder about EA and Activision, moan about CoD, etc. It's because it's what the consumers want. They want to be jerked around, manipulated, and simply lied to. At least that's the conclusion I'm seeing confirmed over and over again in this thread.
So your big defense here is, "well, it's not worth my time, so why should anyone care?" Stop being so self-centered and realize the world doesn't revolve around you.EDIT: As for your second, non-sarcastic point, I see where you're coming from. But what kind of savings are we discussing here for the static sale versus a former flash sale?
I would also say that this is still a new sale format. The waters are still being tested. I remember when publisher packs were a regular occurence. I don't know if Bethesda charging $6.xx for FO3 over the entirety of the sale was worth it over the buck something difference to hit $5. I wouldn't have bit either way. And if we're pinching pennies over the cost of a fast food soda for 7 year old games, I wouldn't even put that blame on the publisher.
I like to save money, too, but I'm also not the extreme couponing type.
