Thx OP. Picked up $5 Bioshock + a decently discounted Left 4 Dead, which I just played for 20 mins after it finished downloading -- holy sh|t!! This game is intense...and dark too. And I don't see well in the dark either, oi.

Is there a way to buy these games on my non-gaming laptop, and then install them on my gaming PC when the new @!#$ hard drive gets here?

I did not buy Peggle "Extreeme" but I was offered to download it. The splash screen lets you launch Peggle Extreeme or "Try Peggle Deluxe". Is this the free version everyone was talking about?

It seems to be a demo of some sorts. I will pay for it if this is not the full game, it is pretty addictive.

Well, you can just buy the games with the steam software and not download them, and then install and login to steam on your gaming PC and download them there.

Or if you wanted to save download time, you could download them on your laptop and use the backup feature to burn disks or just make install files or whatever, then use those to install the game on the PC later.

That's the beauty of Steam digital distribution, you can be anywhere in the world, get an itch to play some game, get ahold of a pc, sign into your steam account and load any game you own on steam.

Same here. Last night I picked up the Civ IV package, The Longest Journey and Painkiller Gold for about $40. I have both CivIV (and the expansions) and Painkiller, but the discs are scratched up and having them on Steam is soooooooo convenient.

Because I'm a dumbass. BTW, the sale ended around 2 PM Eastern. Not exactly the beginning of the day.

That's just weird then that they chose to end the deal in the middle of the day instead of midnight. I'm sure they lost sales because of that (well, at least one sale).
