WTF... a happy face on the game title?

I guess this puts a nail on any hope of having decent sales anymore.
Before, it was a great time to be a gamer with Amazon, D2D, and Steam going at it, getting some killer deals.

Now, for the past few steam sales, everything has been neutered. Amazon has basically stopped pretty much of their sales as well, D2D doesn't have anything better.

The 'new' steam sale is just too much static to find anything. They say, 'That's right,
8994 titles on sale across Steam' But, looking at a few hundred, I see sub-par prices all over the place.

Oh well, I do have a backlog of stuff I need to play anyway, thanks to the previous killer deals Amazon did.

before there was little images for faces / emoticons, you used ascii art, and : D was a big smiley face. (I added a extra space from : and the D)

most systems now still look for those short cuts and auto replace the characters with the face, regardless if you want it or not.

Picked up Witcher 1 and 2 Enhanced editions and Just Cause 1 and 2. Get to start some new series from the begining.

What are you talking about? The sales are EXACTLY the same. The only thing that changed is how they go about it. The %$ off is still going to be like it always has been. Also always check GMG and CDKeys before buying anything from Steam. They are where to get really good deals tend to be, but it varies day to day.

Steam is all over the place, but the deals are still there. The difference is most of us have already bought all the good deals so there are fewer to find. The biggest issue at this time is that devs are raising their prices right before the Steam sale then marking larger percentages (so basically same price) so that it looks like it is on sale for more than it is.

I actually didn't buy a thing. I have such a backlog, it just doesn't make sense to buy even the newest games because they'll be lower by the time I get to them.

Steam is all over the place, but the deals are still there. The difference is most of us have already bought all the good deals so there are fewer to find. The biggest issue at this time is that devs are raising their prices right before the Steam sale then marking larger percentages (so basically same price) so that it looks like it is on sale for more than it is.

That is what I am talking about... before, we could get lots of games that were maybe 1-2 years old for good prices, and Amazon played a huge role in that.
Now, even games that have been out for 3+ years still are at $19.99 (75% off!).
Amazon & D2D aren't doing anything special now, and it really shows by the lack of competition.

picked up like 6 games. wingamestore had a broforce for $3.75 as a flash deal. Wish I picked that up. Thought it was going to last the entire day but I think it was a price mistake.

Seems I nearly completely forgot about Steam this year. I'm usually a mad man during the Steam holiday sales. Watching the minute the daily deals and flash sales start, voting, trading cards, etc. Just checked it for the first time. Doesn't even look like a sale is going on. Checked my wishlist, which has like 30 titles in it, and not a single one is on sale.

Hopefully this doesn't mean anything for the future. Maybe they find Black Friday isn't a big enough deal for them with the Winter sale (Christmas) being right around the corner.

DANGIT! I saw the sale on until Dec 1 but when I went to buy some at noon the sale had ended. Didn't want to make a spending decision when dead tired... oh well - they'll be on sale again soon. *blush*

I picked up Hard Reset myself,i no longer have my physical disc copy and having a copy on Steam for less then $3 made this maybe one of the best bargains i found.

Got that and Borderlands 2 GOTY Edition which for $8.79 i thought was awesome.I was broke last year during the last Cyber Monday sales on Steam and missed the 75% off for it.Not this time

$40 for a 3 year old game seems steep to me,the wait was worth it.:thumbsup: Got my cousin a copy even as he is new to pc gaming and absolutely loved BL2 on the PS3.
