Does it place the left and right triggers on a separate axis? I can't try it out right now.

I'm pretty sure you need to rewrite software at the driver level for this to work, Windows sees them on the same axis, once you hit the left trigger, it takes away from the right trigger.

I'm glad it annoys someone else, racing games are unplayable on the PC because of this. I don't understand why it's gone unfixed either, sometimes I want to call up Microsoft and just yell at them...but I don't know who to ask for.

Update: xpadder is awesome.

@ Skurge:

DirectInput, the triggers are on the same axis.

XInput, the triggers are on different axes.

...whatever that means.

I'd pay $100 for NFL2k1 with current rosters and high speed online play. Still the best football game ever made.

Thats just what I wanted.

Xinput is what the xbox and GFW games uses and the triggers are on a separate axis.
DirectInput is what most other windows games use

The only racing game I know of that has the games on a separate axis are codemasters games.

Gonna try this out when I get home.

they are pretty much the same generation, but it came out 2-3 years before PS2/XBOX so its not really a fair comparison since 2-3 years in tech is like another generation

it looked pretty awesome for when it came out

1 year.... It got powned due to bad security/DRM and everyone simply rented games, copied them, and then ran it thru a conversion utility which basically made it completely playable once burned to CD/DVD.

I know how there's a ton of people who adore the dreamcast, but it's one of my least liked consoles ever. I could honestly count on one hand how many games (besides sports games) that I liked... and none of them are in that pack.

Dude, what are you smoking? Can we say Nintendo VirtualBoy? Or 3DO? Or Atari Jaguar? Or Sega 32X? Or Sega CD? Or Phillips CD-i?... The list goes on, well before you ever hit the dreamcast. As in my previous post, the only real reason the dreamcast died was because it was completely and utterly hacked. It was a pure software mod that couldn't be stopped. It has/had some amazing games, like "House of Dead 2", "Armada" "Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver" (much better than the Playstation version), "MDK2", "Phantasy Star Online ver2", "Skys of Arcadia" (later re-released on GameCube), "Soul Calibur", and "Marvel vs Capcom 2"... Just to name a few.

agree, the system was a blast and a breath of fresh air at the time. plus it was so small and 4 player ports. Though i thought the VMU was kinda wierd, looked like a min gameboy but you couldn't do much with it on its own.
been cool if it had some simple games you could play on it, like space invaders n such

Is Sonic Adventure a port or is it the PC version? I remember the latter having advanced graphics.

The Dreamcast was certainly legendary. Did piracy kill it? Maybe. The more likely culprit was the PS2. That was the system everyone had to have. Nobody I knew had a Dreamcast. There used to be this used game store not far from me. The guy who owned it had a ton of vintage gear for sale, including several Dreamcasts complete with original packaging. Like all good things, the store went out of business shortly after I discovered it.

i don't think the PC version was exactly the same. Looked to me like it was based off the original, but i could be wrong. They keep trying to reinvent sonic so much i can't keep track. All of them sucked except for the Genesis and DC versions imo.

I think the Dreamcast was just slightly ahead of its time. It had online play and all of that before anyone really had an internet connection that could handle it. The ideas were great, but people just weren't ready for them yet.

It also had that secondary interface option on the hand controls. Forgot what it was called. You were able to get additional game info from it I think. Either way I thought the Dreamcast was an excellent system. Got a lot of miles out of it.

The boxing game wtih the character named "Afro Thunder" was my favorite Dreamcast game. too bad I can't remember what the game was called, but I had a blast playing it at my friends house the summer before I went away for college.

EDIT: I found the name of the game. It was called Ready 2 Rumble. Awesome game to play with friends.
