Wait, wasn't Trine on a previous days sale for $10? Now it's $5 today?

Yup, also they extended the sales on other items and in some cases added more items and made the package cheaper.
I suspect when they didnt get the sales they wanted they started going crazy. I wonder if these ridiculous sale prices are being used to boost sales quickly so they can say they have X number circulation or something. Possibly to boost ad revenue and also get more companies to join them.

Yeah, I'll get that one for sure. One I have always wanted to play. To be honest I'm kind of ashamed I have waited this long to get it.

Hahah, I forgot that I bought KOTOR during the sale. Thanks for the reminder. /installs

I am kicking myself for forgetting to check the forums of the games before hand to see what the problems are. Haven't run into anything yet but I always try to remember to do that to make sure that there aren't any problems that arise. Like the missing CD soundtracks in some of the Lucasarts games.

Ok, finally got of my ass and am about to pull the trigger on a few games in my cart:

Star Wars: KOTOR - $4.99
Assassin's Creed: DC - $9.99
Ghostbusters - $6.79
Titan Quest Gold - $9.99

Anyone have thoughts? Good games/deals? I don't have much time to play games, but these looked decent enough to keep my interest for a while.
I think KOTOR is the only great game in the list (and an awesome deal), but the other three are good deals on decent to good games. I liked TQ the least of the four but I'm in the minority on that and would still say it's worth at least $10.

Which Lucas games had CD soundtracks?

I know Quake, Quake 2 and their expansions all had CD audio, and missing them actually takes a lot away from the experience. But I already have the discs so its not a huge issue for me.

Thanks man. I went ahead and got them all anyway. Now to find time to play them!

Today's sales are the more popular ones from the sale I'm guessing. I'm getting Defense Grid at least. Missed that one.

Looking at all the games for sale the last week or so has made me realize how many games I have not yet tried for one reason or another. LOL

Its going to be interesting to see what STEAM does once the holiday sales are finally over. Its garnered a lot of attention for STEAM I'm thinking. Spoiled some of us too with the low costs. Will STEAM offer more or will they slow it down till next Xmas? Should be interesting to see.

I think the standard weekend deals will continue. Other than that, I don't see any major changes.

Wow what a lame ass finale. Isn't an Encore something you do after the show is over....

I was really hoping for some crazy good deals, instead we get nothing.

It's probably good the last day's sales weren't too special, I've spent enough money and have enough games to keep me busy for a while.

Damn Torchlight is down to $5... I really didn't want to get this game since I know it will be a time sink, but $5.... must..... resist.....

Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, and the Windows 95 versions of X-Wing and Tie-Fighter have CD soundtracks. The later games don't appear be on Steam, however.
Considering the popularity of both titles I have wondered why LucasArts has never updated X-Wing or Tie-Fighter beyond the '98 texture mapping updates. Tie-Fighter is often seen at the top of lists recalling the greatest games of all time and I have to believe it would sell quite well on Steam at a $10-$20 price point if they updated it enough to run transparently in Vista/7 at high resolutions (1920x1200+). LucasArts is nothing if not good at milking their licenses so there must be more to the story than is public knowledge.

GTAIV for $7.50, Bioshock for $5, Torchlight for $5, and STALKER for $2 qualify as crazy good deals in my book. Granted they are repeats, but there are plenty of people who missed them the first time around and offering a "most popular deals" reprise on the last day makes sense for this sort of sale where they are nearly exclusive trying to create impulse sales.

Meh, I wanted GTA IV but it won't ever run on my system smoothly(C2D E7200). So I'm passing on that... The multiplayer is the real appeal to me.

I wouldn't recommend getting the Lucas Arts whatever pack with JKDF2. The game does not run good at all on Windows 7/Vista. :/ You also need an older video card... I mean really you can't play those games anymore. Steam didn't update them or anything. They basically just ripped the CD and left some shit out then give it to you. It's horrible.

I'm running GTA4 @ 1280x800 resolution (specs in my sig) with everything at medium silky smooth. Your processor isn't that much slower, so depending on your gfx card, it might work well for you.

maybe the lower settings help you a bit but it was FAR from silky smooth in spots with E8500 at 3.16. I had to oc to 3.8 just to keep out of the low 20s for prolonged dips. his E7200 would be about the same or a tad slower than my E8500 at 2.4 and here is what I got at 1920x1080, high settings with view distance down to 10 and detail at 20.

E8500@ 2.4 33.27 fps
E8500@ 3.8 47.10 fps

So if they do this next year, every knows to keep checking for the games they want each and every day, then buy the rest of the stuff they want on the last day. Luckily I kept procastinating and got everything but one game I wanted on a deeper single-day discount.

I would pick up Killing Floor and Serious Sam HD if they're back down to 5 and 10. Didn't jump on those and wish I would've.
