I had been having the memory reference error with steam lately but think i am over it thankfully due to using new drivers. Recently, however, i have had the following problem. I will go to logon to steam and it will have forgotten my password for some reason, i re-enter it and login just fine. However, when i go to play hl2, cs:source, or deathmatch (the only games i install) it tells me they aren't ready to play. This just happened tonight, I had them all installed and updated for a few days now since my last update and actually played cs at about 6pm, I then quit and closed steam to go to a class, came back at 10, steam had forgotten my password when i went to sign on and tells me cs is only 20% complete. It's "downloading" all of the files again, but it's not making the valve folder any bigger. It's as if it forgot the game was installed and is now checking every file to make sure it's there. Has anybody else had this/does any one know of a fix?
Summary: I go to logon to steam, my password is gone, I logon and it tells me that all games which were fully installed and playable are about 30% complete and must be redownloaded to play. Has this happened to another? Is there a fix?
